Ok are far as i know this game does not too very little support the DX 11
The Game it self Supports mostly DX9 in witch this is what the game was made with.
DX11 is farely new and there are only a few real games that support DX11
So the Best idea is when playing STO is too turn off DX 11 You will get better Frame Rates with DX 9.

DX11 is still in beta atm. They are still making adjustments and im not sure if they have the backend drivers yet from ati and nvidia, but will add the performance features when they do get them.

I think you will find that DX 11 is in the game now ...

I said It was but people are still having issues with it be cause its still farely new.It came with windows 7.I know its in STO But like i said its slowly being adding and being fixed.But your Still better off playing this game in DX9 mode you will get better Frame rates.Than with DX11.

DX11 is kinda like HD tv slightly better Video But not much better then DX9
DX9 has been around for years now.
