# 1 suggestions on build
01-09-2012, 05:53 PM
hey guys, please some feedback

defiant-r

all purple gear.

forward:
3xdhc mark 11
1x quantum

aegis shield
aegis deflector
aegis engine

rear:
two turrets
transphasic cluster torpedo

tac consoles: 4 of the 26% boost.
sci: cloaking // borg sci console
eng: capacitance cell // resist mod // 35% shield mod

device: subspace field mod, engine battery

specced all 9's in weapons, starship projectile spec 7 points. no points in energy weapon spec. Should I?
targeting/defense/impulse thrusters full. shields full. engine performance high. Hull plating full, armor reinforcements 6 points.

Only skill i regret is the energy weapons spec, for more criticals more often and higher in damage, but its energy weapons not torpedoes, so their criticals dont reach that high right? But they are the shield strippers of a build since torps cant do it...they fire a lot too which means more chance, what you guys think?

bo layout

cmdr tac THY1 // APB // CRF 2// CRF3

LTCMDR TT1 // THY2 // APO:1

Ensign Tac
Torp Spread

ENG: EPtS // RSP

SCI: ST:1 // HE2

my reserve BO's

I have a tac for crowd control with torp spread 2 and CSV 3.

reserve sci: PH // HE2

reserve ENG: EPtS 1 + 2

thanks guys!

Two TacTeams is crucial.

Also think about going with CRF 3, 2x APO 1, CRF 1. That way you can rotate the APOs for a pretty nice uptime on defenses.

For Sci, HE 1 and TSS 2.

2 tac teams. thats it, and get 3/4 borg to use with that aegis shield...but i hear borg gear is getting nerf'd soon tho.

if spec'd right any good pilot will rip it up in that build....with a little wiggle room for personal taste.

edit, a 3'rd turret would give you that xtra chance for awesome phaser proc.

apo = immune to stun? cant remember.

what about science team to remove debuffs? Nah need?

also none of you commented on whether or not to put points in energy weapon spec.

thanks alot for the feedback then! keep it coming!

I don't think it's needed. If you get subnuked or scrambled, it sucks, and you may have to retreat if you can't rely on enough support. But at least scramble was always the bigger issue for healers, and subnuke will blunt your alpha strike with or without ST, the only deal is the extra time it takes till you can do your next alpha, but that's not that long, and weaken you defensively. And even with ST, you're at least 15 seconds away from your next defensive buff. Which means you're either dead, 30 km away, or supported by allies with or without ST. It is different for Cruisers and SVs, because they can't run as easily, and they provide support to others, which relies on high availability of their buffs.

Of course, having ST is great to support fellow Cruiser and Science Vessel Captains. So it can't hurt to have a BO with ST as well and switch out when you find that your team need it. Or your team is build on the idea of Escorts providing the occassional ST. (IN which case, youc an also rely more on their support in cases were you'd miss a TSS or HE.)
