I made my acc 24hs ago with a 30 day free trial
i downlaoded the game patched it and it would load fine but when i click "Engage" the screen goes down (as normal) but the next screen doesnt pop up ....
i then deleted my game and transfered the game from my brothers computer ( where it works) yet it still wont go past Engage ....

Do you have either XFire or TeamViewer installed? Both of these pieces of software have been known to cause issues with the current STO client.
Also, are you running any Firewall or AntiVirus software that might require the StarTrekOnline.exe and gameclient.exe to be allowed to fully run or communicate over the internet?
Solar - acctually there is a option to put in the key for 30 day free trial with no payment details - my brother did the same ad is currently online .....
Stab in the dark here but Windows 7 seems to object bitterly about some programs trying to write into their config files when they are installed in the default areas, Ventrillo was one of these. To get around this try moving your installation out of the default setting onto another location such as D:\games if possible. Windows cannot care less what programs do to themselves there and it should be fine.
I seriously cant thank you enough - were not 100% there but i think we are soon to be.
I moved the files to my desktop and tried and its now hit me with a 10 gb update - before i only updated 3.4gb so...... i guess this is good tytytyty
