My plans are still pretty vague for this ship. I'll have to get my hands on it.

But I was thinking about setting it up as a tank/support cruiser in case I ever decide to team up. DPS won't be the point... healing my wingmen and screwing around with the enemy will be.

I'd probably run shields and aux high. If money were no object and I were going to install the consoles of my choice...

Not sure if you can put an Enhanced Plasma Manifold on an Odyssey, but it would further buff the already increased shield and aux. Antimatter Spread would be good for mucking with the enemy's targeting. The Ionized Gas Sensor would be great for decloaking Klingon BoP's. I'd fill my science console slots with these. Since money IS an object, definitely an Assimilated console.

Beam arrays all over, of course, and maybe Tricobalt torps fore and aft? (Har'Pengs would be evil...)

As to BOFF abilities, here are my short lists to think about:

ENG: EptA, Aux2(x), Eng Team, Extend Shields

SCI: Haz Emitter, Sci Team, Tractor Beam, TSS, CPB, Feedback Pulse, Scramble Sensors, Gravity Well, Photonic Shockwave

TAC: FAW, Tac Team, Attack Pattern Delta, Target (x) Subsystem

for those that want to try a tactical layout, the following could be fun;

cdr eng: EPtS 1, RSP 1, Eng Team 3, Aux2SiF 3
ltc uni: HY 1, BO 2, AP:O 1
lt tac: Tac Team 1, FaW 2
lt sci: Sci Team 1, HE 2
ens uni: EPtS 1

though fair warning, it'd prolly be better to have the ltc uni as engie or sci.

Naw. But I can shove a lance up yours. Welcome to find me in game if you doubt anything at all I've said to be anything short of fact.

Just tested out this build on Tribble.

MAN is it fun!

Really good DPS for a cruiser. And the defensive skills are enough to keep you alive in PVE just fine.

Attack Pattern Omega might actually be a better idea to help with the horrid turn rate, but Beta is better for team-play in STF's which this layout would work quite well with.

I think a trip to tester server to try this out is in order.
