I've got a quick question on the scatter volley BO skill. in its description, it only says it deals "moderate damage as AoE", but what I'd like to know is if this means that damage against an individual target is lower or the same as if I were to attack it without having the skill activated.
So basically, if I were to attack a single ship while Scatter volley is up, would I deal more/the same/less damage to it than if I didn't use the skill?
Edit: To clarify, it will do more than an unmodified attack yes. Will it do as much damage as a rapid fire attack? No. Will it do good damage on multiple targets? Yes. Will rapid fire do good damage on multiple targets? No. For Pve like you find in the STF's it is a good choice along with torpedo spread. For instance on a normal cure run you can blow up the first pairs of bop's quite nicely in one pass of aoe cannon and torps.
I can't say for sure, though I'm sure someone will be along soon who can but I seem to recall hearing that CSV deals approximately 70% of the damage of an equivalent level CRF to each target it hits up to a maximum of three targets.
If that is correct, then yes CSV will do more damage to a single target than not having CSV but for a single target CRF trumps them both.
