Insulting devs, calling them idiots or perfectionists perhaps says more about your own character than theirs and it certainly will not help your case.

Just because you pay for a service doesn't mean you can throw abuse to the service provider. I run my own business too and sometimes have to put up with a lot of crap from customers (although 99% show respect and tolerance), in rare cases I have simply sent the job back and refused to work for them, money will not buy my self respect that I would lose had I taken it on the chin.

Maintenance is a constant requirement of a game so large and complex as STO especially with new content, bug fixes and a lot more players recently. Most players would be happy to settle for a couple of hours a day scheduled maintenance rather than a system crash half way through an elite STF.

As for timing well Cryptic are in the Pacific timezone, they come in at 7am to apply the patch etc, they have looked at the times when the demand is lowest throughout the world and they generally use those times. If you are in Europe or the UK (like me) then yes it can be at an inconvenient time for us, but the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

And in any case they are adding: "The water in Starfleet Academy has had splashiness added" so what more could you want?
Never asked them to change the time of their patching.

Maintenance is a requirement YES, But not this amount of planned downtime and patching. The size of the almost daily patches is ridiculous too !!!! This doesnt affect me as i have stupidly fast internet but i think of others as well.

Just because i pay for a service doesnt mean i should get what i pay for .... WTF !!!!
If you seem to get alot of ****ed off customers had you thought maybe your at fault and not the world ???
I agree about abusive customers need to be taught that a degree of respect is needed.

I run an IT company myself and understand that people have very little patience for IT solutions, but this isnt the first day of downtime.
This isnt once a week
This is daily downtime !!!!!!!

I see no problem in calling them idiotic or perfectionist as this is my viewpoint i am suggesting.
If i dont make this post my voice will never be heard.

Yes i have seen the multiple downtime bashing threads and you may have noticed i never bothered posting in them as i actually have a message further than whining about downtime.

I'm pleased I am not one of your customers or suppliers in this case, you didn't even read what i wrote so I will not comment further.

I am pleased however that you realise the splashy water is indeed worth today's downtime
