Ahhhhh so many choices and good info. I can see I wont be starting a KDF character anytime soon lol. Althoe I guess I've narrowed it down to a engineer and science officer.

Hmm, since those 2 carriers cant be used till 40+. So i'll be using a BoP atleast till then. How do Sci and Eng capts fair in them? I see all there bridge slots are universal.

And which Frigates does the Karfi use?

Thanks for all the info so far guys, really helpful . I think reason I steered away from Klingon at first is cause of this lol, so many choices and options, bit overhelming at first. But now I've played all 3 on Fed, think I can take it in more lol.

Well, when you're playing engineer you might want to try out a battlecruiser, they're great fun.

BoPs are very squishy but of course you can do what you wish with their BO slots so you can put some powerful heals into them.

The Kar'fi

can carry the Fer'Jai frigates.

The Kar'fi is the only one that can use the frigates.

I have flown both; conventional wisdom is Engineer in the Vo'quv and Tactical in the Kar'fi, which are both strong. Personally, I fly an Engineer in the Kar'fi to give it some additional resilience, and have flown Science in both which also works perfectly fine.

The Marauder has a single hanger bay, and is basically a star cruiser with some minor downsides to compensate for the hanger bay. I want to like this more than I actually do, but a lot of people really like the Marauder.

I wouldn't recommend Tactical for the Vo'quv, but other than that most combinations are perfectly workable, depending on what you want to do with it.

The pets used at this point are all over the place. S'kul fighters from buying the Kar'fi (but slottable anywhere) are very popular for their burst damage. With the fix, the initial alpha from the BoP pets is amazing. Tod'uj fighters are solid. I personally fly most often with the Orion interceptors and the Marauding Force boarding party shuttles, but then I fly a disabler build rather than a primary dps build - honestly, it really depends what you want to do. Even shield strippers can get in on the action with Tachyon Drones.
This is great news!

I can't wait to have useful BOP for my Vo'Quv again

My Science Captain makes great use of the Vo’Quv, I tank pretty well with it and I use my Science Skills to harass and disable my targets.

In PVP I tend to fall into the support roll dolling out heals and providing extra damage via my Hangers.

I have a Tactical Captain that uses the Kar’Fi.

I’m still kind of learning the ins and outs of the Tactical Kar’Fi.

The Kar’Fi offers much better DPS than the Vo’Quv but is not near has well in tanking.

The thing that I like the most about the Kar’Fi is that with a Tactical Captain you can generate huge damage and still take advantage of harassing Science Skills.

I’ve yet to try mounting Cannons on my Kar’Fi but I hear Cannon Kar’Fi are insanely powerful.

Sure an engineer can do well in a BoP, but when you want to later try out a carrier you might want to get used to limited maneuverability and the need to tank rather than try not to get hit that's all.

Think of a BOP like an escort. And eng will make a bop a bit more tanky. But any class can work in a bop. You have the option of using the commander BO slot as any class. So, eject warp plasma 3? sure, why not. Grav Well or photonic shock 3? That works too. Or you can go with a standard rapid fire 3 or APO3 configuration like a fed escort. Or you can do what I do, and do all of the above, and switch them on the fly.

Ok Think I finally decided on which to be for now lol, picked a Gorn engineer and aiming for the Vo’Quv. The idea of being super tanky while bugging people with fighters and beams appeals to me lol.

What kind of skill tree/boff would I be looking at to make Vo’Quv as tanky as it can go?

Still got a slot free so may roll a science officer also and see which i prefer by endgame
