# 1 Ship sets Question
03-09-2012, 11:17 AM
Hi all, Im playing a ENG in a cruiser. Right now I'm using the advanced Excelsior and plan on getting the Odessy when its available in the C-store. I like to run my ships as beam boats and pretty much only play PVE. My question is what set would be best to use?

Borg, MAKO, Ageis etc.

What are you thoughts and personal experiences with the sets

Thanks

I don't like to grind STFs so I tend to use a combination of AEGIS and Breen. The various STF sets come with some nice perks, though: like the increased Warp speed and such. Still not worth it for me to spend all that time grinding.

<_< It should be "MACO" or more properly M.A.C.O. which stands for Military Assault Command Operations.

Mako is either a fictional power source from FF7, a type of shark, or an actor who did the voice of General (Uncle) Iroh and Aku.

General experiences: Borg- Low shields, healing procs that are nifty to have and awesome sector space speed with engines, boosts to various power levels depending on piece and the Console is pretty much a must-have and makes it easy to get the 2-piece set bonus

MACO- Great defensive shields and set bonuses that help.. power distribution? Engines also do a small boost to sector space travel.

Omega Force- Not as tanky as the MACO set but tetryon glider set bonus gives you a nice anti-shields boost to offensive power. Engines let you use Slipstream drive more often in sector space.

Jem'hadar - Adds to polaron damage and seems to have pretty decent science skill buffs.

I personally run a 3-set borg + Maco shields when running an escort, or an Omega-force 2-set + Borg or something else in a cruiser.
