Well Cryptic wants to introduce "the" Ship with that Odysee.

I'd lie If I'd say I like that, it makes the other cruisers prety obsulete.
But I'd lie too if I'd say I'm not temptet by the nice shiny toys that varieants offer.

The probem remains: I HATE the look of this ship. I'm sorry. I'll never befreiend with it, to me it will ever be the cheap fan-mary-sue that it... well is.

And I know with certainty that there are A LOT of people who share my opinion.

So after selling 3 versions, why not adding some classic skins for each?
A Souvereign-skin for the Tac variant, a Galaxy-skin for the Eng-vraiant... an MKI-ugly-whale for the MK II sci ugly whale? (well may be something people actually like for the Sci variant, the Vesta class may be.)

I'm prety sure the sales would go up with that... and I even might buy one^^

I mean it even makes sense:
The Odysee is THE universal ship. Turn rate aside, you can give it the bo setup of EVERY SINGEL CRUISER available.
And you can chosse the console setup of every singel cruiser yet in the game, just improved.

So give us the skins and we AT LEAST have back the variety in looks.

I don't see that happening. You give the Odyssey the ability to look like other cruisers then where does it end? You have people asking for looks of other ships for everything else. Fleet escorts that look like Constitutions, Long Range Retrofits that look like Defiants, Dreadnoughts that look like Jem'hadar attack ships. It would be glorified holoemitters, and frankly lazy.

Simply skins I would imagine might be something they'd probably include down the line, after they have the plus ones out on the store and can gauge the demand for different looks.

We are not speaking of Escorts looking like Cruisers or science vessels looking like escorts, we talk about cruisers looking like crusiers.

If they WANT to introduce a cruiser that can take the role of EVERY SINGEL CRUISER yet in the game they should apply that same logic to the visuals.

The very second that ships go life, all t5 cruisers will at once go the way of the t1-4 cruisers: they are useless.
Everybody who can efford an Odysee and rates efficiency over style will go with the Odysee. Because she can everything all the other cruisers can.

And there is no place for refits of the other ships; with the universal consoles they will either have THE SAME layout or without the uni slots will remain weaker.

The odysee is, technicly "the cruiser". It has the TOTAL variaty next to a BOP.

I believe that ship is among the worst things, prety next to the lottery, that could ever happen to that game; it breakes the balance, it takes variaty away and it, btw, will hurt the c-store since there won't be a point in buying an Excelsior or GalaxyX/R any more.

What I'm trying here is just to reduce the damage.

And yes, if they introduce an ueber-escort it should be able to carry classic escort skins. If they add an ueber sci-vessel it should have classic sci skins.

If they want pure archetypes they should add it, but COMPLETLY.
