I was just about to make a post on this, it is rather silly, even if they did upgrade them in the month they were in the past, they may be stronger but not that strong… I like the idea of 20 or more D7's trying to kill you and just killing them in one shot. Remember it was said in "yesterdays enterprise" that a few modern photons being sent back with the enterprise-c would defeat the Romulan fleet, and that was like 20 years in the past.

simply put this mission was very poorly thought out, it talks about how the weapons of the future in the hands of the past Klingons will wipe out the federation… but the past seems to be doing just fine if you ask me, Hell, Star Fleet may want to go back and grab a few of TOS era mothballed ships to send to the front lines.

I just figured it out... the makers of the game have no concept of past and future tech levels. When you get to the next quest "heading out" Damar Kahn says "Nero had a ship of awesome power" Granted he had a ship of AWESOME power in the TOS era that could destroy 7 starships in a matter of seconds, but in Nero's time he simply had a simple mining vessel. but because Nero could destroy an armada in 2233 clearly he could do the same to in his own time of 2387. Who cares about the 154 year technology gap.

I'll bet if they equipped Zefram Cochrane's Phoenix with a 50 cal it could probably take down my Galaxy X's forward shields.

Wouldn't the Federation, after being allied with the Klingons, have in the database the frequencies of both weapons and shields of those cruisers? Just have the computer run a quick search, then you become invulnerable to their weapons while being able to make precision shots on the D7 hulls disregarding the shields completely...

You may be underestimating the power of the weapons used. This isn't like fighting medieval knights with modern guns, the technology of the 23rd century isn't too different from the modern 25th century tech you are using. This is a mistake many mods use when balancing TOS ships against TNG or later ships, they shouldn't be cannon fodder. Think of it this way, the modern military has the capability of fielding thermonuclear weapons in the multi-megaton range, indeed the largest ever used was somewhere around 57 MTs IIRC, its easy to forget that the first A-Bomb used in anger was only 13 kilotons and it still destroyed a large portion of a city.

"Yesterdays Enterprise"

Picard: "you have come 22 years in to the future."

from memory alpha

Yar then tells Picard that Captain Garrett reported four Romulan Warbirds, leaving the Enterprise-C severely outmanned and outgunned. La Forge then presents the possibility of re-arming the Enterprise-C with modern weapons, but Picard vetoes it, saying if they do that they'll alter the past.

Tasha said deflecter shield tech has doubled in that time.

Garrett: Captain (Picard) why doesn't your ship come back with us the Romulans (4 warbirds) would be no match for your weaponry.

22 years and the Enterprise D would out class at least 4 warbirds... 150 years and who knows what it could do, we know Nero destroyed at least one TOS Klingon Fleet (47 warbirds), and one Federation armada (7 ships), why would a Dreadnought from 50 years later be weaker than a mining ship?

then look at the ENT mirror episode when the Defiant constitution class shows up it wipes out the Terran fleet, like they are bugs.
