So I'm thinking of having a few alts be PvE specific and would love to level them up in some lower tier ships but I am curious about which ones offer the best consoles (again, strictly for PvE unless some Klingons get froggy in Ker'rat, then I can't make any promises ) for future STF's and fleet actions. I generally go the route of playing against types (eng in escort, tac in cruiser, etc) but will be using a sci in a sci ship this time and wanted the biggest bang for my dil grinding buck. On paper the, the option of having a torp seek out cloaked enemies sounds great, but doesn't seem to really apply in PvE (not often anyways since the BoP's seem to only cloak for a second). Any advice? I will say this: The light science vessel is horribly ugly (though by the looks of it, it is probably canon... so no offence to those that love that ship) and for some reason I haven't really noticed it in game so I'm thinking that one may not be a good option for some reason. Anyways, before I start "had too much coffee" rambling, I'll end this now.

Umm yeah, I would say probably the intrepid, either the captain level one or better yet the VA level one would be your best bet if you want a sci ship for a sci.

The capt level boat comes with a free photonic shockwave console which is neat.

Either boats are good ships and you really can't go wrong with them.

If you don't mind me asking why ask advice on buying lower level ships for pve in the pvp forums? Kinda seems like the wrong place for this question.

Maybe this should have been posted in the PVE section?

crap. I seriously thought this was the pve forum. That was not intended, my apologies! Teach me to post in a hurry...
So, I guess my question would be, how do I move a thread

hehe, after a recent visit to the PvE shipyard forums, I'm actually glad you came here. We actually know, ya know, the mechanics :p There is a lot of bad information out there. Less in the PvP forums though.

In PvE, sci ships can be a lot of fun, but don't expect space combat to be as fast as it was in a cruiser or escort.

I will agree with the notion pvpers know the technical side of this game inside and out. I've seen the number crunching (though my brain has a mini stroke every time I look at all the numbers and try to make sense of it) and have noticed that the builds here seem to be more geared towards tactics rather than the typical forward facing and almost stationary pve builds. Whereas those may be great for stfs, it gets rather vanilla and boring at times. I just didn't want to come off as another console hunter out to wreak havoc with p2w gear in pvp. Thanks again for the feedback even though this is obviously in the wrong section.
