Yes, another one of these. :p

Before I start asking, here's what I have so far with my BOffs and their positions on my Fleet Escort. (note this is all space abilities. I've been doing just fine in ground combat so far)

Eng: Sizov (ensign position): Emergency Power to Shields I, Extend shields I, Directed Energy Modulation II, Aceton Beam III
Amanda (lieutenant position): Engineering Team I, Auxiliary to Structural I, Eject Warp Plasma I, Aceton Beam III

Tac: Garet’Tar (commander position): Beam Overload I, Torpedo High Yield II, Torpedo Spread III, Dispersal Pattern Beta III
Theryl (lt commander position) Torpedo High Yield I, Cannon Scatter Volley I, Beam Target Engines III, Attack Pattern Omega III

Sci: Sene (lieutenant position): Jam Sensors I, Tachyon Beam II, Tyken’s Rift II, Viral Matrix III
Stann (none): Science Team I, Mask Energy Signature I, Gravity Well I, Tyken’s Rift III

I am planning on flying both the Fleet Escort (which I have now) and an Assault Cruiser (Sovereign) (possibly a Star Cruiser, an Advanced Escort, or the Odyssey further down the road). Are these BOffs of mine fit for both? If not, what abilities should I swap? Do I need specific BOffs and abilities for each type of ship, and thus need to get 1 to 2 to 50 BOff slots? What should I do here?

# 2 Where to Start.

First off I would buy 4 – 6 more BOFF slots. I have 3 teams of Tac BOFF’s
MVAM Escort
AoE
Com Tac – TT1, CSV2, SP3 and DP3 (mainly used for gate duty in STF’s)
LT Tac – TT1, CSV2
Ens Tac – TS1
DPS/single target
Com Tac – TT1, THY2, CRF2, APO3
LT Tac – THY1, CRF1
Ens Tac – TT1
And another 3 Tac Boffs for a cruiser beam build
LTC – TT1, BO2, THY2
LT – THY1, BFW2
Ens – TT1
As you can see I always have 2 TT available and this set up gives me great versatility. I have been thinking of getting another 2 BOFF slots to separate the cruiser AoE from DPS but we will see.

Another thing I don’t run beams on my escort, I did for a while then put a third DHC and the difference it made was amazing. I now chew though shields, suggest you try it.

(TT=Tactical Team, CSV=Cannon Scatter Volley, SP=?, DP=Dispersal Pattern ?, TS=Torpedo Spread, THY=Torpedo High Yield, CRF=Cannon Rapid Fire, APO=Attack Pattern Omega, BO=Beam Overload, BFW=Beam Fire at Will)

I've actually started using 3 Dual Heavy Tetryon, 3 Tetryon Turret, and one Quantum Torp (all blue) on my ship. While it doesn't solidly beat everything (I.E. D'Deridex Defenders/Borg Ships), it is helping a lot.

Also, on the TT, my non Jem'Hadar Tactical BOff (Theryl) had TT1, but I wasn't able to see it work when I used it. Nothing really happened

Also, I'm kinda new with the lingo here; I was able to translate most of the stuff here, but AoE? SP? I know AoE means something, but can't remember...

Finally, If I were to get different ships, I would need different BOffs for each? No way to multi-task the ones I have, huh?

AoE = Area of Effect, means dealing damage to more than one target. Lots of situations where dealing AoE damage is king, e.g. taking down groups of probes or BoPs in STFs. In other situations dealing more single target damage is better, e.g. boss fights without any adds or taking down structures.

So it helps if you can just switch out a BOFF or two to go from two copies each of Cannon: Scatter Volley and Torpedo Spread to two copies of Cannon: Rapid Fire and Torpedo High Yield. You can switch BOFFs whenever you're out of combat, and there's enough situations out of combat in STFs and missions.

Tactical Team is great and should always be running, so you should run with two copies and always activate one when it comes off cooldown. It adds to the damage you deal and it redistributes shields automatically to the side taking damage. It's awesome.

Sorry the SP3 was supposed to be TS3 and yes DP is Dispersal Pattern. I usually run 3 X AP (AntiProton) DHC's and one Quantim FWD, 2 X AP Turrets and one clocking tractor mines AFT, again for STF's. for normal play I usually swap out the mines for a Quantim Torp or the Har'Peng torp.

Tac team - Removes hostile boarding parties over 10 sec
• Removes tactical debuffs over 10 sec
• +18 Starship Energy Weapons Training for 10 sec
• +18 Starship Projectile Weapons Training for 10 sec
• Distributes shield strength to shields receiving damage for 10 sec*

* this is esential for STF and PVP.

Finally, the teams above can be used on any ship, just match the weapons with the BOFF.
i.e. Escort Cannons - CSV or CRF BOFF's
Sci Ship or Cruiser Beams - BO or BFW.
you can even do an Escort Beams - BO or BFW (though i dont suggest you do an STF with this, it generate quite a bit of rage).

Alright, so I'd still need more BOff stations

What about the guys I have now? I'm sure my Jem'Hadar guy (Garet'Tar) would be good on a beam-heavy ship, but what about the other guy?

And what about my Sci/Eng guys? Good? Bad? Do I need more/others for the other ships?
