I recently bought an Advanced Escort for my Fed Science Officer and after a few sorties, I can tell you that the Fed Escorts do beat out the Raptors (at least the AE doesn't turn on it's ***)....doesn't mean I won't play my Qin Raptor anymore though as I put a lot of work into that characters ship.

as to consoles:

i tried my hand at a few, none of the epic op ones, but i got grav pulse, subspace jump, and iso charge.

none of them are that great, in fact, i dont use them, not only becus the general concensus is that
pvp-p2w=

but also becus the boost from the regular consoles is better than a 1 off every 2 minutes.

if you have one uber attack every 30 seconds or so, would u rather have your 4th attack be in a combo, or each attack be the max. turns out the best way to go is clearly maxing psw3 damage, for me personally, in brel.

the grav pulse hold is nice, but too few and far between, and not much betterthan tractor/croniton/tac beam turn debuff combined

the subspace jump is a lazy mans alpha strike engine, u dont have to worry about approaching u just get right behind them, nice, but not necessary: all that practice i had lining up the trico would be wasted if i relied on this

iso charge: actually the best of the 3, adds a base 10k damage spike on my alpha to the main, upwards of 50 splash on the 4th. but again, long cd, and id rather have higher psw

granted: the power drain console would be a waste as i only use one energy weapon. theta and aceton are good i guess but i didnt get them and dont plan 2. there

my unsolicited 2 cent on consoles and why they arent that great (p2w)

Usually, I would say that no ships are really OP, but all that has changed with the field generator debacle. MVAMS and Sci-Odys in particular are going to be completely out of hand now.

Sorry to inform, The BIg O pet ships operated not together in the same instance.

Steven Hale, I REALLY enjoyed facing you with my sci captain, 1100 (renegade Bynar!) in a Varanus.

I also really REALLY REALLY enjoyed all the healing getting tossed around. Thanks!

i agree with the op, save for 2 things. theta radiation and a federation science ship fully spec for using Graviton Pulse Generator. both are a death sentence and leave you basically helpless, fully speced graviton pulse can leave you dangling for 30 seconds. no teamwork required, apply console liberally and win. ask your doctor about subnuking the target too for extra helplessness

Those consoles are fine and aren't really the issue. It's the Aceton Assimilators that can't be shot down without HYT or TS and are easily hidden within carrier spam and Vent Theta which is broken due to infinite debuff stacking and instantaneous crew annihilation.

AMS on one ship is merely an annoyance but a whole team spamming AMS can break a match.
