Due to this, I will periodically move threads from one section of the forum to another to ensure that the right Dev sees them. These forums/ threads will also see less "added to my list of feedback" posts because they are already actively looked at by the team.

I've added this information to the OP.

Brandon,

I contacted you about a week ago in regards to an "email option" for STO chat channels. Currently, i do not see any options available for channel administrators to email channel members. I am just trying to find the proper path as another Dev suggested I try the forums to submit this suggestion. Is it possible that you could forward this suggestion for one on to the Development Team?

Thanks

Hello,

I posted something similar to this in an inactive thread recently, and that was my fault for not noticing the forum infraction until after I posted; for that I apologize. I wanted to highlight a problem in the game's economy that I think many threads are looking at from different angles, instead of considering the problem as a more comprehensive, unifying whole (which by fixing one problem, might solve many!)...

The Exchange as I am sure we are all aware has some inherent problems that need to be worked out. Ranging from duty officers, to data sample listings... I understand there is a lot to deal with during the transition phase, what with going F2P and consolidating servers the world over (and to the EU players welcome!) but I would like to take this time to address what I consider to be an issue of great importance... The '400 item' viewable slot limitation in the Exchange.

I believe that allowing the community to view all the items in a category will greatly alleviate any problems currently facing the community, ranging from limitations of selection when buying items, to major conflicts within the in-game economy regarding price fixing (especially with data samples and similar items where one type is abundant and unfilterable)...

To elaborate, allow me to relate an incident which occurred to me today...

I was attempting to sell a full stack of 250 data samples which I had accumulated as overflow from my daily questing earlier today. However, I had to purchase at least 15 full stacks (250 items each) of the same type of data sample (which I didn't need) just to simply start seeing other full stacks for sale.... and compared to the way overpriced single units, the full '250 stacks' were being sold way too cheap. The limitation of only seeing 400 'items' of any given type (whether data samples, duty officers, even bridge consoles, etc) - rather than the entire list of items up for sale in that category - makes it very easy (in fact, encourages) 'spambot' players to deposit 1 item for a higher markup than is reasonable. I for one like buying and selling data samples in bulk, and I get tired of clicking 'Buy' 250 times just to see if i can eliminate single items to start finding larger stacks, and thus better deals. Selling large stacks is even more frustrating... I spent 4 million energy credits (and about 3.5 hours this afternoon) trying to 'buy out' literally hundreds of single item data samples placed on sale in the Exchange, simply so the one stack of 250 units I originally wanted to sell would be visible. At the time of this writing, my bank is full of the aforementioned stacks (which I am unable to sell unless I sell them at an incredible loss), and there is barely a noticeable change in the Exchange, regarding visibility of viable units for sale (for example, I still do not see any items I placed on the Exchange, which I believe were quite reasonably priced). I am beginning to see stacks of 250, but they are barely higher priced than stacks of 1 unit of the same type.

I guess what I am trying to point out is that most of the problems on the Exchange that so many players face would, in my opinion, solve themselves if we were able to expand our current '400 viewable item list' of any given item type to 'every item for sale' of the said category. I believe the economy would begin to 'balance itself out'; prices would begin to normalize, spammers wouldn't have to resort to gouging new players 1 unit at a time, and bulk item sellers would have a chance to help bolster higher end prices.

I understand this is very likely a difficult problem to address since the '400 item limit' has been a staple feature of the STO Exchange since this awesome game's launch. And while I do greatly respect and appreciate everything the Devs do for the game, I truly think that this is a necessary framework issue that should be given a high priority to be addressed and resolved - to help stabilize the game's economy, and in turn, the game's community itself.

Thank you for your time, and again I appreciate everything you guys have done for the game!

Sincerely,
Reggie

P.S.: Since my last post my inventory was full of the aforementioned data sample stacks, so I have since had to delete about half the stacks I bought (probably about 2 million worth)... My bank is still full of them but to be able to loot anything I had to dump stacks which I knew would be otherwise 'unsellable' considering the current state of the Exchange. I am hopeful that the 40 stacks I placed for sale (which are not currently viewable) will eventually be seen, but just to provide a further illumination of the problem I will not be using the Exchange for further purchases until this situation is either relayed to me via a status update or a feasible fix.
Again, I don't blame anyone for the problem, I have seen on the forums it is a tricky issue. But also as I said before, I believe many issues will 'cancel themselves out' if the limit is included to allow for visibility of every item for sale in a certain category in the Exchange, which I do believe deems appropriate research and resolution... To further expand upon this, allowing users more options to sort the bids (e.g, by price) would be another big help in adding functionality to the Exchange, if not simply a short term Band-Aid until a true solution can be found Thanks again

I utterly agree with Reggie's post above. I'm not even trying to deal in stacks of 250: sometimes you can't even deal in stacks of five.

However, my real reason for showing up here is actually to pay the devs a compliment. The recent patch that fixed KDF fighters and Starfleet MVAM pets has really, really been a great benefit to gameplay. I just figured I'd pass that along.

Could you please let the devs know that the Caitian carrier should come with blue quality stalker fighters and not green? It's hardly fair that it comes with green quality stalker fighters when one considers that the Atrox costs 2000 points and that both klingon flight deck cruisers come with blue quality fighters as does the karfi battle carrier.

Atrox will not share the same pets as the Klingons. There are 6 (green and blue quality for each) including the Stalker. They are different than Klingon pets. Klingons get blue quality versions of all the current klingon carrier pets.

Note that all existing carrier pets have had thier quality color changed to Green for consistency purposes. This in no way changed their effectiveness - it was just a color change. So Green come with a carrier, and more green pets can be bought with EC. Blue quality pets can be purchased for dilithium. Purples are not available. You must own a carrier to qualify to buy a pet. For instance, you must have the Orion Marauder to buy either the green or blue quality Marauding force carrier pets.

Ill try to get you a complete list of new carrier pets for both factions.
So, according to Geko, the stalker will come with one set of six green quality stalkers, but you will be able to buy a set of 6 blue quality stalkers in the dilithium store?

Not confusing, I read it and understood it clearly. I think you meant to see is I am shocked that you would have to do that since you paid 25.00 USD to have the darn ship in the first place.

I have the Kar'Fi and the Marauder, and I don't get any free blue-quality hangars.

When they upgraded/updated the pets all around, mine were made green and didn't become blue.

Deploying either craft on a character that doesn't have it already (i.e. I just did this to confirm) still only gets the green level. So, uh, not sure where you got that.

Considering it's 400 more Cpoints, though, I nod to your argument that it should come with a blue hangar.

1. The Account wide bank needs to provide a way of moving bridge officers both commissioned and bound between characters on the same account for training and transfer. Without this feature it will be a instant face palm.

2. For season 6 to be successful it need to be implemented with minimal bugs and followed by great episode type non-gated content.

3. At some point all bridge officer slots are going to need to be converted to commander slots on tier 5 ships. I think this is a no brainer , what high ranking admiral Carries a low ranking staff with him? Answer: none

4. We need more tng uniform such as yesterdays enterprise with combat phaser belts and many others.

5. All this pay to play for subscribers and LTS nickel and dimes the people paying to play the game already. We should not have to pay for lock box keys. This is something among many others things that only f2p players should be paying to unlock. This is why the myself and others were against going f2p.

6. The c-store stipend was not raised when the prices were, this was not the taking care of the community that was talked about. If the prices go up 20% the stipend should too. Ethics.

7 . The c-store prices should not of increased and all should be returned to the pre departure of Stahl price. Ships and other items are overpriced and have turned a loyal c-store customer into a someone who hardly considers items anymore. Its time to earn back our business.

Thank you.
