Am I the only one who hates the Enterprise color scheme? I understand that the Sovvy had some black highlights to the saucer section, but the god-awful half-black Nacelle around the Deflector dish and the stupid black nose stub that the Enterprise-F (and subsequently most Oddys i've seen) has just looks horrendous.
That being said I like the design for the most part. It DOES look a bit whale-ish compared to a Sovereign, but it's a giant cruiser, I suppose it should. Maybe just round up the deflector a bit to look more like a Conny or Sovvy's and less like the Galaxy's.
If we are "logical" to make a new variant, the "standar" model must be prove on action. When flaws are identificated you can do a new variant to correct it. Or to do a new ship with special field of service.
Odyssey just leave from space dock, she is too young to have her own variant... for now. Even on that chase, a long time must pass until new variant is operative.
I think is better doing new science and escort or even create a cruiser with another profile as more small and agile to replace older excelsiors or even do a sovereing refit (she is closing to end of operative life without upgrades and refits).
Thanks to everybody for the fun, sorry for my bad english.
