As previously stated by Leorik yesterday. The rules for this coming tournament have been finalized. Thank you for your input. No further input is necessary as the rules will not change anymore.
Please limit further posts in this thread to Fleets who wish to participate and provide an ingame contact for your Fleet.
We respect that the rules may not be to everyones liking; however, noone is obligated to compete.
Thank you again for all of your feedback. Hope to see everyone amongst the stars.
if thats the case i would strongly suggest you make a whole new post, that way this wont be the "feeler" thread. do a sign up thread.

amen. cus im feeling you didnt give 2 poos about most peoples inpout. having to be all in same fleet is stupid and eliminates people from playing. allowing any p2w at all is dumb. gl hf make a new thread for best chances
It has been thought through extensively and the rule of a team being made up of a single fleet will stand. If someone from a sister fleet needs to join the main fleet to compete than that is what they need to do. Every member of a team must have the same fleet name over their character. This will not change.
If, as you claim, this rule has been thought through extensively, then I would be fascinated to see the rationale for this seemingly silly and arbitrary rule. This rule simply serves to irritate folks and lower participation numbers in your tournament. Requiring a bunch of character / fleet reshuffling to participate in a pvp tournament strikes me as quite irrational when no reason beyond 'because we say so' is given.
Requiring a constant set of @handles, or even a fixed team composition is potentially reasonable, but what great meaning is attached to which fleet tag a character has, when it is so trivial (if time-consuming) to change?3
12th Fleet is considering fielding a team, but given how few spots are left in the main fleet, and the fact that many folks have their toons in banking fleets, this rule is disheartening.
At least have the courtesy to explain yourselves when you draw up extremely unpopular rules.
You really should make a separate signup thread with the rules / date / time in the original post, not buried halfway through.
Naldoran I will do you the courtesy of trying to explain this but i will field no more answers after this, you can always pm me to ask off the forums, but take note i am getting rathar disheartened by the way this thread has spirialed downwards.
this is a Fleet tournament. you are representing your fleet. the pride and joy of say, the 12th fleet. If there were wargames set out there for all the nations of the world to test the mights of thier combat soldiers they would send the best they have to this as one unit. Example, the marines would go to this war game as the marines. not the marines and the army with some navy seals in the mix. they would all be Marines. this is the intent of this 'stupid', as i feel some people think of it, rule. It's about bragging rights, if you will. If you came to the tournament with the 3 members of the 12th fleet, 1 member of Sad Panda's and 1 memebr from fleet "x" it doesn't promote our view of what a Fleet tournament is. If this was a 5 man team tournament then you would be allowed to bring whomever you wanted to the fight. But this is and i think i have stressed this over and over again a FLEET torunament. If this is still hard to understand then i do not know what else to state on this point.
Also, as Coppersol asked, if any admins read this could you please lock this thread. thanks.
juat say no t4 p2w and call it a day. no 2/3's. simple round robin tree. any 5 @handle teamed gets to roll whatever toon they want.
i know its not my thread.....but those seem some pretty simple to follow. its not like there will be many that join us in this. if you get 6-7 5 man teams that actually know how to play.....well...
that would be every player that knows what they are doing in this game. not trying to be sarcastic or be a jerk or anything. but that is the damn truth. there are like 50-100 players tops who know really know what they are doing in this game. and half of those wont be awake for this event i bet.
like i said, not trying to hijack any thread, but the pandas host open vent and have fun matches like this all the time. more recently, and its awesome.
seems like too much talking and not enough "have fun kill bad guys" to me.
12th fleet, 1 member of Sad Panda's and 1 memebr from fleet "x" it doesn't promote our view of what a Fleet tournament is
I think what he means is that 12th itself has many sister fleets. Eg. 12th fleet tactical, because they have too many members to fit into one fleet.
Either way though, you guys are still totally shooting yourselves in the foot.
Amusingly enough, what Leorik suggested is exactly what I was thinking of, since our team would likely consist of one guy with a banking fleet, three with characters in the 12th proper, and my Sad Panda toon...
I do sincerely appreciate your willingness to explain your reasoning behind the rule, and to an extent can appreciate it. It simply runs into a few practical problems when folks have characters in multiple fleets; I consider myself a member of 12th Fleet, MACO and the Sad Pandas whichever toon I happen to be on at the time.
To all those you feel we are "Shooting ourselves in the foot" ...
We are organizing a tournament. We are spending our real money to offer real prizes for victors. We asked for feedback to get an idea what would be liked and disliked. Not all ideas are always going to be taken. We used some, we disagreed with others.
This is very simple, and I apologize if this comes across a bit rude, but if you do not feel that you can compete with the rules we have set forth then by all means, do not participate. However, if you are insterested in winning any of the prizes or feel that you are good enough pvp teams that can win under any rules then we would love your participation.
If we were to participate in your tournament, we would adhere to your rules and try our best to adapt and compete. If you do not want to deal with these rules, its totally okay with us.
