I have 3 "sets" of officers

Set 1 is my main bridge crew of my escort, set up for that and that alone
Set 2 is for my Delta Flyer with 2 completely different ensign skills to that of my escort
Set 3 is my very rare ground crew with a mixture of passive skills

All 3 have the main ship uniforms but with slightly different variations like my ground crew have gloves, my flyer crew has a much different and coloured comm badge.

As people have said its good if you train up officers for your alts or other people and have that extra slot or 2 to do that, if you have nothing else to spend the c points on it might be worth looking at
