Does it do us any good to argue about who is to blame about the late FE's, or who made what FE? Please get this thread back on topic by providing constructive feedback. Damned if I allow this thread to get hijacked by unhealthy skepticism!

To be really successful and get a boost in player population as well as positive buzz about the game's future ... This game needs two to three more FEs delivered in 2012, and delivered at a reasonable pace with no new bugs and seamless integration with the ongoing storyline that hooked everyone on the game in the first place.

Of course the development has already admitted they can't do that.

Okay, I will simply say that to make this game successful and I'm not joking -

1. KDF on par with FED with both missions, ships and costumes. You don't have to like Star Trek to enjoy the fun of a different faction, so all those who say, "Star Trek was about the Feds", yes it was, however not every gamer gives a rats hoot about the canon but does enjoy a "baddie" side...

2. Give us different classes. At the moment Tac/Sci/Eng is much of a muchness. Stop people from using any ship they want. Want to be a Tac, Escorts only etc. Why not have a spy class, or a medic or even a changling class. Ohhhh Changling.

3. Add more content (not fluff). By content "I" mean more meat and not the fluffy lump gravy we get at the moment. The fluff will be bought as a by product of happy gamers.

4. Speculate to accumulate. Spend money on STO. Make an initial loss. Get the punters in who say the game is fun, people will then be easy to manipulate with the C-Store. Heck, I might buy my toon a new wig if I was enjoying the game.

5. Change your name from Cryptic to Ultimate and add a Sabre Wulf destroyer class ship. People will soon forget that Cryptic doesn't = Play the game, but the company name Ultimate would Sorry I jest and that was for the old crusties out there, just like me

It's entirely possible that STO could expand so much in the next 3-4 months that Cryptic will be able to hire more people. If that happens, they could accelerate the Feature episode schedule to be doing 4 per year or more. Right now, I will be remain skeptical, but I am crossing my fingers in hopes that the game will make significant improvements in 2012.

Given the developments as of late, My personal criticism is simple.
1 Stop intending to do things. DO them. We hear about intent all the time yet see very very little of that come true.

2 Fix the Glaring issues in the game. We see more and more issues pop up long term and some repeatedly return. We were told at one point a large group was doing bug fixes. as with #1 above, stop the intent, start doing.

3. This one is personal for me, but its still true, the Game is soley focused on DPS DPS and nothing but DPS. you've officially nerfed the SCI folks into oblivion. I was and still am amazed at how much this game is all about DPS. Given enough firepower anything can be beat, which at least for me, seriously takes from the "star trek" experience.

4 Finish the stories you have in game, now. What is up with B'vat, what about the Gorn, or the Borg or the undine or the Romulans or the Breen or... We have to many open stories finish them up get us some finalization on things so we can move on to the next bad guy of the week, as it is we are in an 8 front war.

5. Re work crafting from the ground up, make it worthwhile, if you have to monetize it so be it, but you can make it work so much better and be so much more worth while. On this note, if you have to introduce failure into the game, which i would recommend against, I would make it no more than 10%, anything more, will lead to crafting not being used, which you don't want, you want more for us to do, not less. Remember we are here for fun, failing, isn't fun.

6. Re work the ship system, the tier system we have, has blown up, its not working, by the admission of your own team. while it will take time and it will be resource intense, it will pay off with more flexibility for you, and for your players, and that is a win in both cases. Suricata's system, is a great idea and I'm certain it would lead to great things.

7. Increase staffing, in the QA and GM department. I've never seen such an abysmal QA process, I'm sorry but I've not. Gm staffing in game needs to be brought up, as it is, with all of the issues you have currently more of your players need GM's and can't get to them, detracting from their game play, and that, does effect you.

Thats all I can think of for now, hope it inspires some thought in folks.

I didn't know rats hooted, but I think most players would like to see a fully fleshed out KDF faction. And though we haven't seen much movement in that direction, mission-wise, we have been told that is something Cryptic would like to do.

2. Give us different classes. At the moment Tac/Sci/Eng is much of a muchness. Stop people from using any ship they want. Want to be a Tac, Escorts only etc. Why not have a spy class, or a medic or even a changling class. Ohhhh Changling.

New classes would be nice.
Perhaps some civilian or merchant classes.
Limiting ship type to class would be a mistake in my opinion. Why limit people's play styles like that?
Changeling class? OP much?

You're not saying anything here.
What do you consider content? What do you consider fluff?

Dunno what you mean here

Along the lines of expanding the KDF faction but it's something that could be added to the FEDs as well:

New DOFF missions. Heretic could introduce some new doff missions that involve rooting out undine infiltrators aboard your ship. This could also be turned into a ground mission inside of your ship.

Husband and wife mechanic on ground missions: As a klingon, you could choose to make one of your boff's a husband or wife. If this husband or wife is on your away mission, each of you gives each other passive attack or defense bonuses. However, if he or she gets knocked out by an npc, your bonuses go away until they are revived. You could also have a wedding ceremony mission that your fleet or friends could attend.

Other Mission Ideas:

It would be nice to have a rebel faction storyline for the Federation and Kling empire. Give us 4 or 5 mini episodes for the Maki and Nausican pirates/Gorn Rebels, 10 in total. Maybe have an extension of the augmented gorn storyline where you work towards building a rebellion of gorn augments along with any gorn who wish to join them. I couldn't think of a better opportunity for introducing a gorn-specific cruiser or escort. Anybody else like the sound of a Gorn and nausican invasion of Q'nos? You could even leave some wiggle room in the storyline for a secret peace treaty between the Federation and the Klingons. In this way, the KDF and Starfleet could work towards defeating the augments.

The Maki storyline could involve elements of the maki working together with Cardassians from the Cardassian Unions to put the Trueway out of it's misery. Section 31 could be involved in this in the sense that Starfleet, unofficially, still does not trust the Cardassians so they would oppose any Maki-Cardassian cooperation. Section 31 would rather have the Cardassians remain weak because of repeated terrorist attacks from the Trueway rebels than to have them consolidate their power. What Section 31 fears the most is that the Obsidian Order will become powerful again once the trueway is eliminated.

Last of all, II would like to see more Reman feature episodes that continue the Obisek Reman resistance storyline. It would be cool to see an episode that involves helping Obisek infiltrate a Tal shiar base. You could also fit a Reman rescue mission in here where you have to rescue Reman prisoners from the clutches of the Tal Shiar. Maybe even have a mission that involves boarding a D'Deridex or even a norexan war bird?
