# 1 Vet Reward: Lockboxes
04-12-2012, 10:03 AM
So, needless to say, lockboxes make money but anger players.

It has been suggested subscribers open them for free like dcuo but Cryptic seems to ignore this.

I think rather it should be added to the Vet Rewards in the 400-800 reward range.

I would rather it be lower but I don't think Cryptic would do that. I understand the possibliity of exploit so make any boxes opened via the vet reward locked to the account.

Leave the option open to unlock via C-Store for the people who don't want to lock the rewards to the account.

I feel like this would make it less of a problem, make people less angry about it.

While I do feel this will never happen. I wanted to suggest it just in case maybe someone at Cryptic cared.

That would be awesome! Great Idea! (and I'm saying this as a silver player!)

Thanks, I'd be a lot happier with something like this. It would really be a good motion towards Golds.

It will never see the light of day.

Lock boxes means money, CRYPTIC knows this instinctively. The only ace they have are the ships, that's because what attracts players are the vessels themselves. Personally CRYPTIC is slowly running out of canon ships to stimulate any further interest.

Once the canon vessels run out, they are going to have to come up with virtual items that will replace the ships to generate any interest in the boxes.

So far we have in these boxes:

A) Jem Hedar Bug

B) Cardassian Galor Cruiser

C) and now the Ferengi Marauder D'Kora Class

Ships that are possibly coming out:

A) Breen Cruiser

B) Cardassian Keldon Class

C) Romulan Warbird

D) Romulan Escort

E) Romulan Bird of Prey

F) Klingon Bird of Prey (Possibly in relations to "The Voyage Home")

G) Jem Hedar variant --> Battleship or Dreadnought

Far Stretch ships in a box:

A) Tin Man <----though I suspect this may turn out to be a mini pet o some sort

B) Tholian vessel - web spinner

C) Vessels from various / TNG episodes.

Truth is CRYPTIC is slowly running out of canon ships, and the main motivator for the purchasing of these lock boxes are the ships themselves.
