Eh...opening my Lockbox and getting a shield weaker than the one I had equipped was enough to make me not want to purchase any more of those. But I "get" why those exist. The Khan outfits are great, especially on ladies (but I didn't realize there were colored lines on the back). Delta Flyer is cool, but...I really hope Cryptic can make that Shuttlebay happen. It's really inconvenient having to return to Starbases and switch when I really just want to use the shuttle for random Exploration and Diplomatic Missions, then proceed onto an Episode with my main ship.

What are your Suggestions for future C-Store Products?
First off, show the front and rear for the costume pics! I'd like to see an actual Tribble companion that follows the player, a Movie Bundle (obviously w/Motion Picture and WoK outfits included) that includes the Under-Armor-ish uniforms from the reboot, the casual jackets McCoy and Kirk (http://img.zeebox.com/images/webstartrekv.jpg) wore in the latter Trek films, Kirk's vest from Generations...

What do you think should, and should not be available in the C-Store for real money?
I think players should be allowed to change their captain's name once before needing to purchase a token (if at all, really). It would be nice if some of those bundle-only items were available for purchase separately (ie TOS weapons) for us who don't mind putting down cash, but only want specific items and may not want to make such a large purchase at once.

What is your opinion on the C-Store Products you have purchased? for the most part I love them. but I wish the Deep Space Nine Bajorian Weapons where able to be claimed more than once per character. and wish that the BOff slots, and Inventory/bank slots where account wide.

Uniforms (F) 29th Century Uniform Pack

Dilithium refinement bonus packs: per Character Dilithium refinement increase. like the bank and inventory slot increase limited it two 4x 2k units giving us the ability to double the standard refinement cap to a total of 16k up from the 8k, best of all it'll pay for it's self down the line. and would more than likely pick it up on our alts as well. the 250CP per 2k increase seems fair to me.

What is your favourite suggestion in the OP from the feedback and why?

F - Ambassador Class.
F - Ambassador Bridge Pack.

Reason: almost every other Enterprise ship is in game, more or less has it's proper bridge, So why not this one.

NX Bridge Pack.

Reason: I love my NX as soon as I get to ESD after the tutorial I switch out to it, I've Run STFs in her and she can hold her own doing smaller tasks ( probe duties ) but I avoid going to the bridge because it's not even close to being the right bridge.

F - Various Class of Bajoran Origin.

Reason: I've got a Bajoran Captain with an all Bajoran Bridge crew. This would make me very happy to have a Bajoran Escort something she can be proud to fly. Defient is nice and all, but I feel kind of out of place with feds walking all around my ship. they must go we don't need a baby sitter.


F - Faction Defector (Option to Change Factions)

Reason: wouldn't be to bad. but they would have to give up something, like they can fly any ship they have in they already own, but if they wanted the new hot KDF ship and they wouldn't be able to use it unless it's a C-Store Item. but that's a can of Gagh I don't know if you want to open.

F - Gender Op (Option to Change Gender).

reason: Most people will pick the option they want for a toon first off, but there are just some people who might be for far along in a toon's prorogation to delete and start over to change they're sex. I know I've got a toon I'd like to make a woman, another option would be if your an alien you get to pick male or female as a drop down choice in the tailor, so we can play a Shapeshifter like from ST VI.




F - ISS Mirror Universe Starship Registry.
F - Miror Univers Starship Customization Pattern Variants.

Reason: This would be very welcomed. we've already got the costumes, and us role players would love to have the option, you could include a Purple leveling ship Engines, Deflector Array and Shields, that can be transferred to any ship you own, gives the Purple warp nacelles glow and could come with an set bonus. like one unit gives a bonus to weapons and threat, two parts would give the purple glow, and three parts could give us a power that we can fire a pulse out of our deflector like a heavy grave beam that we get from the MACO set that opens a rift in space and brings forth something along the lines of Fleet Support I,II or III but from the Mirror universe.


F - Musical Instrument Pack (Items to be Held & Played by the Player)

Reason, Sure why not. I loved this kind of thing back in SWG, it could open up an whole new social and casual game play option to the game. something like the CXP system we could call it the MXP system where you have to play your instrument and build up the Music XP. have five levels, each with a different song and then you could add in a teamed option where up to five people can team up and play together adding to unlock a group song that sounds really cool when played together with one of each instrument type, people could tip those of us who play in Dt, GPL or EC and if they sit around and watch us play they get a one hour bonus to they're XP or CXP.


F - Personal Weapon, Armour, and Kit Variety Skin Packs (Costume Packs).

Reason: More Costume packs the better. I'd love to have a fully assimilated borg outfit for my Liberated Borg Captain, the TNG borg, the STO borg and maybe even the future kind borg would be nice. bring it on. you'll get my money. so long as it can be applyed to our Borg BOffs as well.

F - Ship Refit, the Option to Upgrade Bridge Stations to allow for the use of higher tier abilities (This Option NEEDS to be purchasable via in game Merits as well as the C-Store).

Reason: Agreed on the in game means and the C-Store, but here's the thing, use the C-Store to unlock account wide status say a key that lets you visit Utopia Planitia kind of like the one for the Captain's Table, but then use in game Merits or Dt to buy ship mods. once you have the C-Store key you can do this on any ship you own or get later on down the road, have it be that you have to build up the ship to get to the next tire, so if you have a T3 and you want to make it a T5 you first have to upgrade it to a T4 first than to a T5. say at a cost of 100k Refined Dt per Tire. that's about two weeks worth of one toon grinding out Dt.

What is your opinion on the C-Store Products you have purchased?
Massive let down that my 2,000 cryptic point Prometheus ship sections don't at least keep the weapons I fitted to them. It looks a bit strange when they are firing weapons they don't have.
To fix this you could have it when I separate the ship the other AI sections could use the none damage boost versions of the same weapon type as my section so it at least looks right.

What are your Suggestions for future C-Store Products?

I want this ship in the game so bad.
New Orleans Class
Type torpedo boat.
load out 1 fore Phaser, 3 photon torpedo launchers all same version as the galaxy class.
1 aft torpedo launcher also same as the galaxy class.
Achilles class
I don't know if you can get this ship but just a suggestion.

What do you think should, and should not be available in the C-Store for real money?
Change: The ship body kits should not be in the C-Store.
Why: Simple this would add more variety to the game.
Change: New console category in the C-Store.
Why: This is where you would put the consoles that is in the body kit ships this would make way for future universal consoles to be released.
Change: Lower the price of the Retrain token
Why: We earned the skill points in the first place and asking that much for us to change them. Just feels plain wrong in my book. Having the retrain token cheep also makes it a nice opening item to the C-Store for players who are new to the game.
Change: Lower the price on the single uniform sets.
Why: Ok it's nuts to have a uniform for one gender that price in the C-Store. Then again the whole unifrom category feels way overpriced to me.

What should be added to the C-Store
Borg salvage kit the ETF system is so one sided I think if you add a borg salvage kit to the C-store it would sale like crazy.

Excelsior - 800
2 extra Bridge crew members - 200
Master unlock key - 100

I'm currently holding onto the other 900 for when I need to get the additional points for a Vice Admiral level starship.

3. My opinion on the items I've bought so far?

Excelsior - I love the ship, but if I had noticed that the Rear Admiral version provided me with both the Refit and the original I'd have not bought the Commander level version.

Extra Bridge members - I like the added choices. The down side is that this is for one character only, so my Klingon Empire character won't be benefiting from it.

Master Key - I knew I was being a sucker buying this, but I had one of the very rare Cardassian boxes and couldn't resist it in the end. (I didn't get the ship sadly.)

4. What are your Suggestions for future C-Store Products?

- A discount on the Excelsior refit for all those who buy the original Excelsior ship pack.

- More ships! This included both C-Store and non-C-store options. FASA had some great designs in their
ship recognition manuals that I'd love to see in game.

- Sales! Both on items and on C-store points. Seriously, there isn't even a incentive for buying more
C-points, whether I buy $6.50 worth of points four times over several months or $25 worth all at once, I'll
get the same amount of points, so there's no real reason to buy $50 worth, unless I were seriously
planning to spend them all immediately (such as for the Odyssey bundle pack.)

- Gamma/Delta Quadrant quest pack or other new region quest packs.

10,000 on Ferengi Boxes (Most infuriating purchase to date, more on that below)

What is your opinion on the C-Store Products you have purchased?
Everything was pretty good up until the Cardassian and Ferengi lockboxes (more on that below)


The main reason I'm posting here is I wanted to give you guys a little feedback on the whole lock box system. So lets start at the beginning:

Mystery Boxes were probably the best implementation of this system in my opinion. Giving people the chance to get some without spending any CP was a great idea, even if most of the time it was a common version with lesser rewards. And being able to buy them straight from the C-store if you really wanted to felt very clean in comparison to todays master-key system.

Cardassian Lock Boxes were where we start running into problems. Now because these were a common drop everyone, including the people who would normally opt-out of Cstore related stuff, got flooded with boxes they couldn't do anything with. Secondly, the announcement message being spammed in everyones collective faces was probably a bad idea as well. Sure it might be nice occasionally to make someone feel special and lucky, but when there is 3-4 announcements per minute it goes from special to spammy.

Ferengi Lock Boxes are indeed the worst implementation of this system to date. Boxes flooding inventories and more message spam shoving it in the face of those who don't want anything to do with lock boxes. And absolutely madhouse prices in the Lobi Crystal Vendor. Not to mention there was a very real chance that when you bought a key and opened a box, that you would only get crystals. This made players who didn't want to participate annoyed, and those who did feel left out because the prices on even the most basic of rewards completely over their heads.


How I would like to see Lock Boxes handled

- Remove the system message when someone gets the jackpot prize, It only leads to frustration and harassment. If they want to show off their luck, they can link it in zone chat.

-Give boxes a use outside of opening them with keys. Perhaps allow them to be traded in for Lobi Crystals, or even opened without a key for lesser rewards. (Make them less common as well)

-We need more ways to get Lobi Crystals if the prices are to stay so high, Perhaps allow us to trade-in some of the items we get from boxes for more crystals (Eg. Opened a box and got another pet, go to a vendor and trade it for 50 Lobi) AND MAKE SURE PLAYERS ALWAYS GET ANOTHER REWARD IN ADDITION TO CRYSTALS PER BOX.

-Continue tying in the Doff system as much as possible. Maybe have a 24/48h mission that allows you to attempt to open a lock box without a key. Give it a fairly reasonable chance of failure too.



Some rewards that I think people would be interested in:
-Dilithium Crates (Either as a secondary reward to the real one, or higher amounts if rarer. Don't give someone who spent 28k on a lock box/key 5k in return)
-Inventory/Bank Expansion Tokens
-The Skill/CXP boosts aren't bad, keep those
-Box with random rewards from featured episodes? (Ophidian Cane, Shard, Reman Boff ect)
-Duty officer cadres are always nice (especially special ones like the ferengi)
-Cross faction consoles are cool, but need to be more common then the jackpot..
-Costumes are nice as a semi-rare/uncommon reward

Some rewards that I don't want to see in future lock boxes:
-Common pets that end up flooding the market
-Lobi Crystals being the only contents of the box (Unless you get TONS more then normal)


I think this system will have the most chance of success if you follow some simple guidelines:
1. Let everyone participate, even those who don't spend Cpoints
2. Reward those that do spend, don't allow for situations where you get less then what you spent back.
3. Listen to the players, a lot of that wall of QQ is legitimate feedback. (Announcement messages are annoying.)

The ship was ok even though I haven't used it since my last promotion
The bridge, I only got so that I'd have three centre seats, one for me and the other two for visiting captains
he keys, I quickly discovered were a pile of junk. All I got from the ten boxes were about 40 crystals and a holonovel. The only thing that I have to say about that is a very sarcastic 'Woooow'.




I'm with Jerot on this one. I don't want to hear about some dude or dudette getting a Ferengi ship that, strangly enough, I've never seen anyone using. I know that I'll never get one, I don't intend on opening any more boxes because they're just pointless.

Admitedly, I've only been playing STO for just over a week so I have yet to really immerse myself in the game but I already know that those Ferengi boxes come way too often for little or no reward. I feel like it's cheating me out of useful drops, even though I know it probably isn't. I have 60 of them in my inventory (just in case something about them changes), the rest I discard if I accidentaly pick them up. The way I see the boxes at the moment is just Cryptic finding a way to con players into spending a lot of money and not giving any useful items.

I do like Jerot's idea of having a mission with an attempt of opening a box without the use of a key.

The Cardassian boxes I only heard abiout in this thread so I have no opinion on them.

I do think everything is overpriced and that makes it unlikely that I'll buy them. I mean, if I went to a shop and clothes were costing that much, I'd be walking about in rags. I'm pretty sure that I'd much prefer to spend my in-game money on something that is going to be of use to me. The uniforms... I'll stick with the free ones, I rarely get to see my uniform given the fact that I can't even see it since I'm always wearing armour anyway.

I wouldn't mind seeing a way to earn c-points in-game, even doing a really hard mission for a small amount, just to make shopping less daunting. As an example I'll give the scenario of an amusment park. if you take most of a customers money at the entrance they'll hold onto the rest that much more. if you charge a small amount, they'll feel generous inside the park. If I could earn some in-game, I'd be happier buying them with my real life money to make up the difference for the things tat I really want. The free to play idea of this game is a perfect example of this phenominon. Those who are on the F2P accounts are actually spending more on the game than those who pay the monthly fees because it's their only source of c-points. (hey, I might have been playing for a week, but I did do my research on it ^^).

At the moment, of course, I'm hoarding what I do get for items that are going to be of use to me. I'd rather have a good ship that carries more of the weapons that will help me beat back the Borg than a uniform that only has aesthetic value.

I would also like to see a way to get more dilithium rather than spending my valuable c-points on enough to buy a ship (baring in mind that I've never had enough to make use of the exchange anyway. I don't see the point in spending everything I have on 100 units of whichever I want, either the dilithium or the c-points.) I mean... I need 120,000 dilithium for a sovereign class ship, I have 25,000 and can get 6,000 per day... and I've only managed to refine 6,000 in a single day once the rest of the time it's 250-1,000 units refined.

What is your opinion on the C-Store Products you have purchased?

The Yellowstone is a fun little shuttle, and it has two special abilities, which is fun. It's always nice to have a buffer with DOFF slots, and more inventory slots means I can run missions and pick up all the loot to sell to a vendor without having to worry about your inventory overflowing. All in all, everything I bought was fun and worthwhile!

I think cryptic could add alternate skins for the Vulcan sci ship, the Peregrine fighter, and the Andorian (add ship type when it gets built) vessel.
