So i need some advice...
I have the Galor in box (got it from one of gold boxes long ago) and dont know what to do with it. I have sci captain as "main" character, he has tons of those borg stuff, so he can buy any weapons just for testing (and already has lots of different weapons and consoles for them) and has mk12 maco / mk11 omega sets. Will Galor be good for sci?
I also have tac and captains but i haven't played them a lot, they are 50 but with no gear at all, so i will have to use ship with default equipment to start from... so its an option ony if it will be really better.
Also i dont want to sell it because i just dont need those EC.
Or may be i should try to exchange it to ferengi ship? But i dont think so, as it looks as another "space truck" for me with those 8 turn rate... and i dont like those.
Galor is a lot like the Excelsior. Not very tanky or good at being a healbot, but its an excellent tac cruiser. The turn rate and spiral wave disruptors make it worthwhile for a tac.
Galor's just don't have the science boff's to be an effective ship for a Science officer, I'd go with Engineer or Tactical.
And i dont need sci abilities. I will use a it as regular cruiser, say with broadside beams. What will i loose being sci instead of eng? I dont see any really good eng captain abilities. But tac ofc have some nice damage buffs.

Yes, looks so. It seems to be good for damage dealing, and its what i am looking for. But again what difference it will be tac or sci captain? Of cource tac will have higher dps, but how much higher?

Well I put a Tac in mine. Regarding the "not enough science slots" notion, there's not many on escorts, yet a Science piloted escort can be very, very bad news for the other guy. Between sensor scan, dampening field and subnuc, it could be quite effective. And if any cruiser's gonna point a subnuc exactly where you want, it's the Galor. I know somebody on OPVP has a Sci Galor, I forget who, but it seemed to be working when I flew with and against it. All that said, my advise also Tactical, but there's nothing to say Science couldn't work.
Also, something else to consider rather than beams is turrets/single cannons, the Galor has the agility to keep that on target, you've got three shield facings you can present for your "all guns" attack as opposed to two, and cannon type weapons do more hull damage than beam ones, at the expense of being effective at range, but this is mitigated by the Galor's agilty a lot of the time. Also, with cannon rapid fire, you'll be proccing relatively often, and with phasers and/or tetryon glider, this can prove devestating.
