Or find a way to get EPTW1 (x2) in the build.........
I'm more curiuos what the special shield bind is that was mentioned earlier?
one thing i have noticed about BO is that regardless if your weapons energy is 125 or 165, it drains you as if you had 125. its a power slasher to the max. its also bs that version 1 drains as much as version 3, imo.

Then try BO then EPTW to offset that sudden drain between firings.
And I thought all BO's just drained 50% power regardless of your maximum power setting.
I use this on my Battle Cruiser when cycling (2) BO1's and find my weapon power hardly ever drops below my satisfaction.

was it a % or flat -50? i don't recall now. and yes 2 EPtW 1 is on all my cruisers, firing 2 BOs within a second of each other is rather draining with out a weapons battery or EPtW3 in between though

Hmm. Good question. It may just be a flat 50 points in power as stated by STOwiki.
Oddly though I never see my weapons power drop below 85 points in between firings.
I am set-up as a drain boat though with a PL and skilled to maximize my energy values in score and consumption, so that may be a factor.
I also have a keybind set to activate EPTW seconds before my BO goes off.
Just take into consideration that if you plan not to fire your DBB even if Beam overload isnt ready to be activated in the next 10 secs or whatever you are possibly losing DPS potential because it just sits there doing nothing.
I just kept all weaps firing (DBB+DHC setup) and manually buff Beam overload and take the small delay into account. Just a matter of practice I guess.
Beam overload will drain -50 of your current weapon power no matter what you use, weap bat, EptW, the '135' cap that exists while firing beam arrays doesnt apply here.
Not 100% sure but nadion should only drain about half of -50 but not 100% sure.
