# 1 Ship Beam Weapons

Hey everyone was thinking of changing from mark XII Phaser Beam Arrays to mark XI Polarized Tetryon Beam Arrays sinc it has the 4 times greater probability to damage all shields than a regular array (10% vs 2.5%). This being said the reason is to get better shield damage to enemy's, is there anything else that helps with better shield damage to?

tetryon glider from the omega set and specing into flow cap with the glider and tet weapons. those polarized tets are very inaccurate with no acc mods, your better off with the acc2 dilithium store tet beam arrays if your going to pvp.

And aprt from the accuracy modifier, you could calculate what the mod does for your dps.

A regular tetryon weapon has 2.5% chance to add X damage to all 4 shields right? So it's added dps would be:

0.025*4*X= X/10 = added dps.

The polarized tetryons have 4 times the chance to add that dps, so that would give:

0.1*4*X= X/2.5 = added dps = 4 times that of a normal tetryon.

You can calculate for yourself wheter you think that is worth losing the accuracy proc for.

As an example, if the tetryon proc would deal 160 damage to shields, then it would deal 16 dps for a normal weapon and 16*4=64 dps for the polarized tetryons.
