Also, I am certain Cryptic will continue to feed with real FOTMs and Pay2Win stuff as their company policy and mentality seems to follow. I'm just playing along.
I seriously doubt FBP will be the next Fotm as there are tons of other things far worse/game breaking - but as usual in just about any MMORPG, its all in the eye of the beholder, "ymmv" and each to their own.
You are forgetting that it is a Cmdr BO power that can easily be countered.

If the attacker has superb DPS and FPB-defender has FPB3 even without anything nifty toys, then the attacker will certainly the one be PUNISHED because a great deal of his damage is coming back right at him.
Don't forget that you are still doing damage to the target itself. Just about any average joe in an escort can deal outstanding DPS - but if you are shooting at a metaphorical mirror *shrugs* - it is the DPS the escort has that is doing the damage.
And if somebody is using FBP, by all means, shoot at another target if one is in range.
If you happened to hit something like Javelin or Beam Overlead'ish as first shot - that could hurt.
I guess you are also going to say it doesn't affect kinetic damage resistance as well. Since it actually affects turn rate, kinetic damage resistance, and specific science abilities. There was a discussion you can go read on a thread with the kar'fi where this was being discussed earlier in the year with the testing a mechanics around the kar'fi where all of these issues were acknowledged and changes were made to the kar'fi itself based on these game mechanics.
I think, you amy be spreading incorrect information.. or at the very least outdated info.
