This my thoughts on torps with a Escort..

I've got 2 toons that run Escorts, a Eng and a Tac, both using the Multi Vector..

What I've found in STF's and PVP ( though I dont do much PVP ), lets say your facing the target, you drop the shields on a cube lets say.. You start to turn to fire off a torp, most of the time once your torp fires and gets to it's target, the cubes shields are back up.. The only time I could time it right and cause massive damage with a torp while their shields were down is if I put a torp up front and took it off autofire. So the shields would drop and right then and there I could fire off a torp.. But your giving up DPS up front.

I run 4 DHC's and 3 turrets on my Tac ( phasers ), 3 DHC's and dual beam up front, and 3 turrets on the rear on my Eng ( Either Pol's or AP's ).. The turrets just dont drain the shields enough while turning to keep them down while trying to fire a torp..

But thats on large objects that dont move much..

In Episodes, where it's likey I'll be fighting more than one NPC, I use hit and run tactics. In those situations I always run a torp in the rear.. Reason being, when I pass my target normally 1 hit from a torp from the rear as I pass will take them out. If not, 1 volley from my front weapons will do the job. I also switch up my boff's to add torp powers, normally HY..

In PVP, I run my ship no different than when I'm doing STF's.

I've been running 4xDHC in the front and 2xTurrets and a Beam array in the aft. I like to "waggle" my ship a bit, and it also gives me some firepower should I need to face a stronger shield. That and BO 1 is usefull to fill up a tac boff slot.

Just a quick correction: anti-borg space weapons have a 7.5% chance to proc 1000 radiation damage, not 7500. This translates to an average +75 extra damage per hit. There is no proc icon that marks the target since the proc effect is direct bonus damage.

Just curious what's your Tac BOFF layout? Two TT, two CSV/CRF, two APO/B, and?
