Just some crazy ideas here. The poster above just described what seems to be a counter to cannons. Gasp! Yes! "Balance?" Cruisers with beam fire at will clears carrier's pets, escorts cannon cruisers to death (like so many times in pvp), and carriers overwhelm escorts with pets. Could this be a non-WoW orented trinity?!?!

Carriers aren't a new invention in warfare. Not very alien to tell the truth. Klinks have different cruisers and Fed has different sci ships. Whoopty-do. Now we have our own flavor of Sci Carriers. Sounds like Cryptic is trying to replace "Support" role with carriers. To me this is just them fixing Sci Captians/ships to usable again.

-Please continue to put in carriers to the science. Hologram fighters FTW.(no loss of life & not "stealing from KDF)

-Give cruisers one launch bay, it's not game breaking and eveyone knows it.

-Give type 8/10 shuttles to escorts. They need them for real boarding parties, with shields and beams. No carriers are using them now. Boarding party skill was ok because of how easily shuttles are destroyed, now we should be able to use shuttles that have shields and beams instead of suicide fighters(vs KDF).
Having a wing of beam shuttles is probably the simplest way for escorts to HELP counter pets. Cannon only builds shouldn't be the the ultimate and unquestionable king of space. F that.

I'm not sure if this is a serious post or not, but eitherway, I disagree with just about everything you said. Especially the last part, the way the game is at the moment allows a cruiser to be proof against any single ship not carrying subnuc or getting a lucky phaser proc.

I am 100% serious. Cruisers wouldn't be able to kill ANY single ship. Escorts can and always will be able to out manuvre cruisers and blast them to death with cannons. Giving cruisers a single hanger won't change that. Especially if you also give Escorts the bare minimum ability to launch shuttles with beams.(That's what the Orion Slavers fighters are for the KDF and they love them at the moment.)

-Cruisers kill carriers > Escorts kill Cruisers > Carriers kill escorts >

I think the game has advanced enough for everyone to have small craft. ALL ships have shuttle bays. Not every ship has bays large enough to carry runabouts/peregrines or spare torpedo's for them. Shuttles should be inculded on every ship. We may not be able to have 30 ship Starbase 24 missions, but we should all be able to have them in STF/PVP
