On my dreadnought I can put 2 science console. Only 2.
I have to chose between Console - Science - Emitter Array and Console - Science - Field Generator
I'm really confused because I really don't know wich one I should put on my dread.
Does anyone could give me some advices.
Right now I'm using Console - Science - Shield Emitter Amplifier and Console - Science - Field Generator. But I don't feel anything special with Console - Science - Field Generator

Field generator. Hands down. I got a bunch of them for my engineer toon, and my tactical toon is likely going to end up with several. Most of their ships' science slots will have nothing but field gens by the time I'm done. At a bare minimum put in one. They're not as good as they used to be, but they do stack now.

Mathematically speaking, you will immediately reap the benefits from the Field Emitter that gives you a flat bonus to your overall shield capacity.

The regenerative console doesnít help you in an engagement that lasts less than two minutes and even less so in just thirty seconds. This is the time span that a high DPS escort can deal massive amounts of spike damage! Therefore, it is simply better to have higher capacity shields running high damage resistance than it is to have regenerating shields healing over time, usually time you canít afford.

Field Generator (Rare XI) is a flat 18% boost to shields, that is an 18% boost to the number on the shields so if it's 6000 you will get 7080 out of it, and than apply your other shield bonuses to it.

Field Emitters is a bonus to shield healing, it makes your shield heals (EPtS, Sci Team, TSS, Brace for Impact with Shield Distro DOFF) that bit more effective.

If you where flying support I would completely recommend one of each, but your either tanking or DPSing in a Dread and I think two Field Generators would be better. Using the above example two Field Generators would take you to 8160 per facing, probably much more if you have points in Shield Systems.

I typically run with one of each. If I have more sci slots I'd go 2 generators and 1 emitter.

At least one generator to help with spike damage, and one emitter to help in tanking in longer skirmishes.

I tend to use dual generators on my dreadnought with MK XI MACO shields. This way you have shields with some good resistance, good shield points, and decent regeneration. Generators will be better for most cases since they increase the overall amount you get. MACO XI for example gives 6000 something shield points (Not exact, I know), but with twin generators and max shield skills, you can push that to nearly 11k easy. This is 5k more to each side, 20k more when using tactical team. This is especially helpful in elite stfs.

In MACO mk X, I run one field generator and I can still get my shields up to 11k. Now I'm grinding dilithium for another one . . .

# 9 Field generators

I used 4 very rare mk XII field generators on my Temporal destroyer on previous account together with 1.45 shield modifier and adapted maco shields I got capacity over 25k with shield systems on max, and also I had some additional shield bonuses. My shields were the reason why I outlasted even odyssey class, and with all power in fleet weapons even matched escorts in terms of damage. Field generators are better for covariant-> long term engagements, and emitter consoles are better for regenerative -> short term engagements, best against single opponents or multiple firing to one shield vector. But they can also work good to remove each others weaknesses cov shield -> low regen, regen shield -> low capacity. I prefer high capacity, but I have regen almost of a regenerative shield array.. It's your choice.
