Most people seeing a Galaxy in an STF will assume it's the VA refit.
The reason people get upset about people bringing low tier ships into Elites is because your holding back the team, you are saying that your enjoyment is worth more than four other peoples enjoyment. It is basically a selfish attitude. And it is a Selfish attitude that people defend under the banner of I can play how I want.
MMORPG = Massive "Multiplayer" Online Role Playing Game.
The Multiplayer part means you really should consider others. Also they banned Shuttles from STF and are working to ban low tier ships.
I agree with you. I would never bring the T4 Galaxy into STF Elite. I was talking about Normals. I did 2-3 STF Normals with it - it's working as long you have STF gear equipped. The main problem is that you lack the weapon slots and that the Galaxy is turning super slow...
Edit: I actually didn't know that you can/could bring shuttles or T1-T4 ships into STF Elite.
Can't say I've recently seen a T3/ Commander ship in an STF, but I occasionally see T4/Captain ships..
Yesterday I saw a tac with a Tactical Escort Refit (the T4 version, not the cloaking T5 retrofit) in an ESTF. It did second most damage, not far behind my engineer in a T5/Tactical Escort Retrofit, but way ahead of all the other T5 ships in the group, and by a very wide margin.. (don't ask - i always play with the log parser on my second screen )
Personally I would much rather see a well build T4/Captain ship in an (elite) STF then a poorly build T5/RA or T5/VA ship..
While a good player in a Tier 4 ship is better than a bad player in a Tier 5 ship, he'd do that bit more damage in a fleet escort over his Tier 4 Defiant. I've done STF's on Elite with the objective many times with 4 people, because the 5th guy was AFK or just that bad (He parked in front of the gate and proceeded to shoot it for the entire round of Infected, except when the cube killed him.)
My only question is how did you know it was the Tier 4 version?
