Hello fellow authors.

OK, now I am truly baffled.

I check my mission plays/ratings daily and record the information in a spreadsheet I have created.

When I checked yesterday, one of my long standing 1-star ratings I received on a mission when it was
first published was mysteriously changed to a 5-star rating.

WHA?

I'm not complaining mind you, but I know for a fact I did not make a mistake and have it recorded wrong
because I got these when the mission first came out and was up on the list.
Did someone accidentally 1-star it early, and replay it to change the rating? I suppose it's
a possibility, but it is a rating that came in a flurry of 1-stars within a 30 minute time period.
Has somebody seen our forum rants and felt guilty perhaps?
I just don't know. It would be nice to see it happen to all my drive-by's, but I suppose that's a fantasy.

Anyway, not the mystery deepens even further, but apparently in a good way.

I wouldn't think it strange if that happened. I know some people 1 star when they find a bug - even ones outside of our control - like Cryptic server blips not letting people on to the map.

Then they replay it another day and might give it a real rating.

I did consider that, but it was one of the initial quick simultaneous drive-bys I received when I first published, and the other (2) 1-star ratings I got had written reviews, so I kind of discounted that possibility. The mission never had any bugs, so I don't think it was that.

However, I do suppose it is a possibility.

It is also possible that the player mis-rated the mission and realized it later, returning to correct it. Any number of things could be going on.

I put up a bait mission about 2 weeks ago. There was no trace of the "Don't play but rate 1 star" attacker. I got one fast 1 star and that is all. The mission was high on the top rated list long enough but still nothing. I guess the attacker got bored and moved on.

Not sure if this is same but a person gave me poor rating cause in his words the mission caused his game to crash so it must be broken. Not sure how I caused it but it works for other just him not to mention the mysterious drive bys

Hopefully that is good news for all of us. It will be nice to publish again without fear of being 1-starred by the drive by bandits.
