I was searching around and couldn't really find my answer, I do know that the Vo'quv was nerfed but I dunno HOW it was nerfed.
My problem is, does this nerf have anything to do with shields? Cause me and my friend decided to make Klingon's for the non-cash carriers, we got to 40 last night and bought our toys only to find out that EVERYTHING that shoots at us drains our shields from 100% to 0% in under 6-8 seconds.
Like we'd going to a battle against an NPC, fire off tacteam when we're getting shot at and within a few seconds our shields are gone and hulls under 75%.
Any info on why this is? I know it isn't the shields, we're using the same ones we used on the ships we piloted last (paratrinic shield array) and we never had this kinda problem before till we got into the Vo'quv.
After changing shields to the mission reward shields (Reman Prototype Covariant Shields) we no longer have this problem, our shields hold perfectly fine in battle now. Weird how that is but meh.
I found this too. I set up my Boffs for shield tanking at one point, but even then I had to switch to the Jem'Hadar shields ASAP because things kept dropping quickly on my exchange-bought shields.
I decided to use my pets as meat shields, since you can keep on throwing them out there you can hang back and fire off shield drainers. It seems to work a lot better than just diving into the middle of things. Sometimes faster than flying an escort.
There's bug that hits now and then where you have to pull off the shields and replace them to get things reset, otherwise anything can and will kill you (also tends to nerf DPS as well). It'll work if you just put the shields in inventory and put them back on the ship. I first found out about this while flying a Vo'quv coincidently, I was in a Normal Cure Space, everything going well until a Borg Raptor blew up next to me... one hit kill of me even with nearly full shields (KHG Mk X) and hull. Teammate told me about the pull-off trick when it happened again.
