The ship turns just fine the planets just need to yield the right of way. If you want it to turn better learn to use your abilities, change the power settings, adjust your throttle, add DCS consoles. Very few ships in the game can be pointing one direction and traveling in another, power slide.

Aux to Inernal,
Evasive,
Emergency to engines,
Droping the throttle from full to reverse,

and you can get an impressive turn rate for the ship.

My issues with the ship is the 4 bridge officer slots instead of 5 associated with VA ships, the price point for the this and its compairable power. It is compaired to the Vo'Que(4 bridge officer slots) a free tier 5 ship but the Atrox(4 bridge officer slots) is a Tier 5.5 ship. It also costs 400 C-store points more than the K.D.F. tier 5.5 Battle Carrier that has 5 bridge officer slots.

I did purchase the ship when it came out had I realised it was a tier 5.5 ship what had 4 bridge officer slots instead of the 5 normal associated with tier 5.5 ships I probably would have reconsiddered.

While your whinging about the amount of BOFFs on it I feel the need to point out it has the same amount of powers as all the other fifth Tier, five BOFF ships and that magical number is twelve.

although it is compared to the Vo'Que, I found it's an entirely different beat because of the different fighters. You don't really have the same punch the klingon fighters have. its not a bad thing, but different.

So you like the lose the Lt Cmdr Engineer Boff and gain an Ensign and Lt Engineer Boff? Sorry I rather have one less boff seated and get the more powerfull LtCmdr Engineer power. It the same number of boff powers.

For an Atrox, an Odyssey or for that matter any cruiser beyond Commander rank, the turn rate's gonna suck - that's all there is to it. Even adding consoles and engines to buff the turn rate doesn't help much.

Instead of trying to fight that losing battle, I design my carrier/cruiser weapon loadouts to dish out broadside barrages while turning: at a minimum, 1 Beam Array each fore and aft, a Cannon fore and a Turret aft.

Edit: Oh, and shield-and-hull-tank the living $#!+ out of them too.

It has a better boff layout then most VA ships. Instead of an ensign you get an extra Lt Com. That's a 2 step promotion on the rank of power you can use.

I'd rather a Lt. Com sci then a Lt. Sci and an Ensign sci!

The Atrox is just fine if you go full out on science power drain, and crowd control. It's not a cruiser, and it is definitely not an escort. If you are thinking of it in terms of weapon damage... even your fighters, runabouts, and shuttles weapon damage... you're missing out.

The Atrox's science powers are huge in STFs. At the point when probes spawn in Infected Space Elite, I am stopping the probes and spheres with gravity well. When that fades, I ram forward with tractor Beam Repulsors, and Photonic Shockwave. Then after we mop them up, I tame the gate, then the Tac Cube with Tyke's Rift, Power Siphon, and my Stalkers, and Peregrines have their way. In the meantime, I am further draining power with my Polaron beams.

In KA Elite, a single Atrox is going manage the probes on one side just fine. When the end battle comes, I go with all Stalkers to keep Donatra's aux shut down as much as possible. Then she can't cloak as often... if at all.

It's all about having power over the powerful, and with a bit of thought and work, the Atrox is amazing! At least until the next nerf.

Atrox BOFF stations are very good, Lt.Commander skill instead Ensign skill, it just must be better.

Don't forget to give detail look on what each option for controling fighters is doing. For example Intercept mode is pretty effective when u need to defend from enemies which use slow but devastating weapons. Escort is good in situations where team is split. etc.

As a carrier and science vessel it has many roles.

Also someone said that there are no Flight Deck Officers for Fed which is not true. There r 2 altough 15M+ EC.

One more thing, 2x6 hangar fighters , 3 fighters from device & 3 ships from Photonic fleet. U are never alone in space and u can feel like an real admiral Oh yes, if u drop below 50% u can have one more full ship from fleet support
