I'm just tossing this in.

One of many cancers for STO pvp in general was the "(too) hard and (too) fast" factor, thankfully inspired by WoW - along with the magic healing crap. That was never the case in Star Trek - only for Borg and a few other uber-species.

STO could be a lot more interesting if it were slower, more strategic. Eve Online is nice example but with this being Star Trek, there should be more about shooting subsystems and such. You know, uboot style - not all has to be slow slow slow but just more about Star Trek, not Star Wars where things just blow up as soon as something looks at it.

Back on topic.

In terms of pvp, there just has to be a decent split between PUG vs PUG and Premade vs Premade; because in most of the confrontations, Premades always win vs PUG due to the obvious reasons that lead to the hate.
Guild Wars 1 did a nice job there, imo.

sad but true. I once spearheaded the O13 pvp effort, and though none of us were dedicated pvper, and most of us even pvper material, we decided to avoid anything clearly broken, as well as all abilities any dev declared to be bugged or unbalanced. Sadly, O13 pvp is no more... It's not easy to recruit players to the loosing side... :/

No... not at all! I've never seen anyone doing what mini does, on the level he does it. What you need to survive his attack is luck. There are lots of factors that can spoil his attack, but unless something breaks his strike (pets etc), and if his deboffs and VM hits you right, you're pretty much chanceless.
Oh no buddy, i think you misunderstood me wrongly there :p
I agree with you that what mini pulls off in his BoP is probably unique and if anyone can kill someone oneshotting its Mini with his trico. Heads off for that

But that doesn't mean there arent people in this game who can outsmart every move he makes.

He has always been my best and loyal 1v1 buddy and we always had much fun with it, but he hasnt been challenging me for at least a month now
