I agree, kill all carriers, even the KDF carriers. Take them all out of the game, and refund peoples money for them, than make it so that we can retrofit any ship to be up to our level so that its alot more of a variety. would be nice to use some of the lower level ships in end game because they look cool as ****. Thats IMO tho.

To the op, Carrier are only op if u have no idea what you are doing.

If u enters a arena and u have no anti spam for a carrier team your SoL. But a semi competent premade vs a carrier premade. Will kill spam, separate, and execute burst carriers. Just like cruiser fed balls.

LETS NERF ALL CRUISER BECAUSE THEY CAN cross heal lulz

Carriers are only op to people who can’t read buffs and have no timing or do not have a escort. A well placed SNB will ruin a carrier’s day. A well placed tact capt alpha, will execute a carrier.

One anti spam boat will destroy any damage a carrier can muster. A SNB there some burst there good bye carrier.

The real reason everyone is QQ now is because they nerf science ( grav well) and most sci powers which really were a strong counter to carriers. Now everyone runs cruiser healer or cannon escort. You rarely see a anti spam boat FAW escort, grav well sci vessel at all in arenas anymore. This makes carrier seem op, even more op when there more than 1 because there counter is almost extinct.

Nothing a smart burst oriented escort cant can do, lets nerf them lulz

This new tunnel vision is because of the new skill tree does not promote diversity in specialization as it did before the changes.

For example one high skill lvl grav well before the skill tree changes would pull everything in its grasp no escape. A whole carrier team could be envelope by one grav well/ewp. Now grav well is a joke even if u spawn extra’s with Doffs the pull is nothing. The new grav well is 1/3 the strength of the old, who want to play that, no one. Who wants to play any SV there a shadow of their old selves? Shield drainers gone as well. Energy drainers got buffed . The counter that are still there, but are fewer and far between.

Every time I pvp the carrier is the op ship that survives everything sent against it. As much as I would like them to remove these abominations to the Star trek universe its not going to happen. What I will settle for is a nerf that makes them equal to cruisers. I believe the problem is in the bridge officer set up. They have access to more high end abilities then the other tier 5 ships. This being said others have said its there pets that are op. All I want is a balancing of this ship to make it equal to the other tier 5 ships. Right now however the carrier is the center op piece in pvp. Lastly I am most certainly not saying nerf it to the extreme where its useless, cryptic opened this door, and the players should not suffer for it.

Consoles come from cruisers escorts, not carriers. Broken powers belong to all ships, nothing especially carriers like (chroniton procs have not counter) Energy siphon pets are broken. But that is the pet not the class. People hate the Danube but there aren't as bad as the Siphones, imv. If you sit still, don't kill the pets, and then get another tractor your to blame.

Bottom line you throw a couple engis in a ship with cruiser hull and sci ship shields... and have them support a couple more carriers... ya its game over good luck against that. HOnestly, what about 5 eng in Tac-Oddy, circling ES3, and a bunch of heals as extra. As you said yourself the high lvl SCi powers are a non issues, so the Carrier becomes an annoying sci ship. Anyone really think that 5 carrier > 5 cruisers.

Everytime i pvp i die to DHC, nerf DHC! the logic doesn't fly. They don't have access to more high-end abilities.
I want balancing to, but that ship has sailed with ultra-rare doffs, +1 ships and consoles. None of which is a carrier. Since Gozer just stated that balance is an after thought in the current Development (nothing new really, but at least he admitted it) i wouldn't get my hopes up.
