About time gated content, dan did you not get the memo that all the podcasters took this content as negative and almost all of the player base condems it (ignoring your data claims as they dont represent squat). Why continue the time gated stuff. I wouldnt mind trying defera or shuttle mission but i have not done so and will never do so because its set at certain times of the day. Set it up like stfs with cool downs instead and i will play it but all this time gated nonsense well.
Lockboxes, well other companies do it better than you, please learn from em. Also stop using ships in em it is unfair and i know full well cbs didnt say limit alien ships.
As far as lockboxes go, we have heard the feedback loud and clear and have already started to make adjustments to improve the way players can win those rare and exciting limited-time ships, such as the Jem’Hadar Attack Ship. While you will still see lockboxes in the future, we are making improvements to add more rewards and excitement when opening up new boxes in the future. This also will go hand in hand with an overhaul of the LOBI store.
The feedback that I heard loud and clear was an almost unanimous hatred for the lockboxes in general.
I realize that you have to spin this, especially when PWE's stock has hit rock bottom. Still, it would be nice to see some fundamental rethinking as to how the game is poorly monetized, rather than some dabbling with the odds of a lottery and a store.
This statement concerns me. Isnt there going to be 3-4 months between S6 and 7? If the Spotlight rewards are *truly* coming "shortly" after S6's release, why even mention S7 which is several months away? Is "shortly" just PR for "sometime before S7" or what?
GN, are you really asking for a reliable date from dstahl?
Going by past seasons expect bare bones at launch and some bits might come mid season and some things ppl really look forward to being dropped. I.e season 4. :p
Are we getting any new kllingon ships anytime soon, or perhaps can we use a captured atrox there?
A Feresan Atrox-carrier variant would be cool. Although unlikely it'd be an Atrox carrier, just something that looks like it, but a bit more Klingon perhaps.
Im not happy about starbases, as cross faction fleets cant play together where it counts i.e im a kdf in a mix fleet but since im kdf i cant play the starbase stuff because of my faction if i want to do sb stuff i need more kdf in my side of our fleet which there arnt many thanks to cryptics bad choices with factions i.e starting fed first then unlocking kdf which is probably why most wont move over to klingons as they invested too much into their fed characters i.e purple stuff and builds and cstore purchases.
I hope when nwn is out of the door that sto finally gets their own foundry dev so they dont take foundry code from other projects which is probably not designed for a trek game but instead we get our own programming team for foundry which adds specific trek content and trek mechanics which are needed. Sick of relying on nwn foundry development for our trek game.
Are you using the Duty Officer System? Data shows that since the DOFF system was added, this has helped greatly to help players get to max rank.
I'm certainly part of that data. Got to KDF 50 before reaching the Romulan story arc thanks to DOffing, no PVP at all.
There are tons of ways to power level, and the new transwarp/queue system has made accessing whatever you want quite easy. I'm constantly amazed to meet Vice Admirals who don't know which sector DS9 is in.

Not sure what you're getting at. Tech is tech, the tool will be usable for any MMO player by any developer that chooses to license and adapt it. It's like you're saying that Borderlands depends too much on the Unreal engine. That's the toolset. The dev team decides how it integrates into their given game. Yes STO needs more developers, no question there. But it's not like the software has the "stink of magic" on it. :p
Also... the foundry was dStahl's baby for months following his return to Cryptic. You think it's not "our" team how? The fact it's internal is the best possible situation. Look at the Silicon Knights vs. Epic lawsuit. Look at Gamebryo and Bethesda. The foundry could be the best thing Cryptic ever does for the MMO industry. They need an independent team on it, but right now it fits in the NWN dev budget.
