My account has every ship type under the sun even specilty ships. I have a ton of Boffs 3 in which are a Jem'Hadar tactical , a Reman Science and a Breen Tactical. I have a full Boff Roster and my question is, what should they all have? Like what should my Sci officers have for the different ships?
you don't own them...cryptic does, they just let you play with the dolls
and the question is not so easy answerable anyway. every ship/powers has a function...missions and PVP, give you a problem to solve...some ships/powers are better for certain situations, it's part of the fun for you to find out which one is best for each function or situation.
will in my docks I have an Inrepid Refit,A luna class, a Galaxy Dread, Defiant Refit, An avenger class, A Vulcan sci ship, Caitian Carrier, the new Carrier escort, a Dirvish class, a Delta Flyer and a Caitian fighter.
Im just looking for what abilities are optimal for each ship. I am a Science officer myself so Science skills come more naturaly. I just like the ships, so the ones I like I used lol.
I somewhat know what you're on about Elis. I'm an Engy and love my Marauder, but when the Bortas came out I started having issues with mixing boffs with the two ships. Also with the Ody, I liked having a LTC sci slot and wanted to change LTC tier power around often too depending on what stf I was doing.
In the end after respeccing all my boffs I'd boiled them down to about 3 boffs per profession (actually 4 for sci). And each profession has a focus at the lower tiers that needs to be shared across ships.
Per profession I had each of the 3 boffs duplicate their powers but a differing tiers, so depending on the ship I'd get what I needed in ships with lower tier slots without duplication and what I wanted in ships with higher tier slots.
Typically 1 boff in each profession is focused on a single ship type:
- So one tac is cruiser oriented with beam powers and APO whilst the other two focus on cannon and weapon dmg buff powers.
- One engy is focused purely on the bare essentials for builds with 1 engy slot (so ET1, RSP/A2SIF1, EPTS3, A2SIF3), whilst the other 2 are specced to be used in tandem on cruisers
- Sci boffs kinda the same but all three are similar but with the first 2 tiers of each sharing 3 powers between them (mainly HE, TSS and ST) mixed at different tiers so I can interchange them and still have one of the powers available. Then the LTC and Cmdr slots on each are fleshed out with sci abilities I want in sci ships.
Everyone is different so you just need to boil down what you want each profession to focus on across your builds, then spec their lower tiers skills in that so it's shared across all ship types, then skill their LTC and Cmdr slots as you want for the ships that can use them.
i more and more have a feeling this is a " LOOK AT ME, I HAVE ALL SHIPS" thread
frankly, you would have been better off with only one ship, but one you use to its fullest.
I also have a feeling, that you bought the account from someone, and you are now searching for the best ship to use and you have no idea what to do.
either way, you need to google some guides or do some self experimentations.
actualy no. I do own a lot of ships and I just would like to know what are good universal powers for all types. I didnt buy this account from any one its mine and over the years I grew a collection of ships. I got bored of always using the same ship I happen to like variaty. I did google and I just find it... confusing
I kinda have the same issue on my fed ENGY as he was my first toon and I use him to theory test differnt builds a bit as he has a weapons stock pile to do so. What I have ended up doing is I have my main Boff set of 5 which I use for my Oddy/Dread (same boff lay out for me) and then I have my ground team (aka borg reman etc) who I dont fly in space as my guina pigs. What ended up happening is I discovered that there are many level 1 skills that are fairly universal (TT, HE, etc). I have also noticed that I tend to fall back more on certain skills than others. It is possible to have boffs that fly in many differant ships but to do it you will accept that some of them are not really optimal. The thing that will not be possible is to have a highly speclized crew for each ship.
Also when selecting Boffs, as well as the skills certain attributes also apply according to race , for feds Borg and
humans make the best over all boffs for agression and hull repairs/structural strength, the STARTREK wiki has lots more boff info which really can drive you nuts trying to get the best out of your ships and crews then picking the right doffs ,
