I used to play this game when it first came out, over 2 yrs ago, then I switched to other games, and now I came back (swtor blows), and I'm wondering what damage type to use on my escort ship.
I heard antiproton is good, but for a pvp situation wouldn't phaser or polaron be better since they actually have procs unlike antiproton?
Speaking of Polaron, the proc for that is -25 to all systems, but it doesn't say how long that -25 lasts. Is it for 5 seconds like the procs from the other weapons, or does it stay -25 until the target gets out of combat or how does that work exactly?
I pretty much never fly escorts. But my understanding is that antiprotion should be for tac captains because of their higher crit rate? phasers = king for procs. polaron = idk. dis = you only need on person running this on team. plasma = everyone and their ma has resists to it. tetryeon = good for back up to switch to as not too many folk resist specifically against it.
my reccomendation is phasers for the proc. ap if you're a tac. but probably someone more familiar with escorts can help you with that.

Thanks.
Antiproton has an innate proc (i.e. it isn't a chance/rolled for) which boosts crit severity. If you're specced right, the extra DPS adds up fast. Unfortunately there are no available antiproton weapons with decent modifiers (iirc there aren't even [Acc]x2s) so their use is very limited at best.
