been to at least 45 sectors...works ok for me.

Edit: I'd be curious to know how other people are setting the freighter up for combat in explorer/patrol missions, please list your build ideas, think it would make an interesting discussion considering the lack of Tac and Sci consoles.

I slapped an old set of Omega Mk X in there with a Theta Radiation Vent and a spare Point Defense System.

It has the survivability of a gerbil in a blender once the shooting starts, though.

18 reinforcement packs later and no Tuffli Freighter for me

I know no one will do this but i am willing to pay 20mill for one. [though they are going on the AH for 70+ mill....]

Ships not meant for combat. At all, got its aft handed two it in a 4 man version of Stranded in Space, but it's a must have for doffers, and with the upcoming starbases it's a must have for a fleet. Managed to snag one on tribble via constant transfers. Doesn't turn, doesn't have much shields, doesn't have much health. Devices make it interesting for support if you load up on team batteries. And if you load up on 3 armor consoles I imagine it'll gain a few moments of life. But yeah. This is not a ship for STFs or PvP. This is a ship for the casual player and the Doffer. Would be cool if we could use it in The Vault though.

I got mine in 2 tries. What transwarp abilties? I never checked for those

in the Aft compartment, there is a R&D module, Bank, and exchange access, also has a ferengi trader DOFF mission giver. There is even a commdities merchant with all purchaseable commodities.

in sector space, You have a activatable ability to summon a security transport(fed version is a Soverign) that offers Starbase security DOFF missions (turn over contraband/prisoner) that has a 2 hour cool down.

You have the ability to switch to any ship from the flight deck officer at the Conn station up front(played by one of your BOFF's. Conversly you can switch to the frieghter from the flight deck of any ship. Get a aid planet mission while in a odessy and want to save money on 60 medical supplies, run down to your flight deck grab the frieghter and buy it for half the replication cost.


It is locked out of all STF and shuttle events. I would not glitch it into the vault shuttle mission as you will pull a Austin Powers electric cart and get stuck in the hallways. By the time you turn in the right direction the map would have ended.

Bugger only has 2 fore weapon mounts 1 aft, and takes 2 parsecs to do a 3 point turn. You are limited to only engineering counsels. There are no science or tactital slots. though it has the most device slots I have ever seen on a ship. I think it was 5 or 6

I have 2 MKXII borg phaser fore with 1 Aft, 1 weapon energy engineering counsel, 2 18energy 18kintetic damage armor counsels, universal assimilated device, borg shield/engine/deflector(Running the Borg 4 peice set), Boff has BFAW. You'd think this would have some surviability

Did a B'tran VA daily and got spanked pretty hard by NPC ships.

This is not a warship, or even a skirmish ship. this ship would not scare your 80 year old paranoid grandmother. You are better off in a runabout then this whale if you get into shooting match.

It's a great ship to fly.

The ship is more fluff then anything else. the DOFF missions are nice and I did find the transwarp abilities. Now I am over the fact that I bought 30 Gama cadres and did not get the Jhem H'dar attack ship. That ship is very useful. the freighter is good for arts and crafts.

Some of us like Arts and Crafts lol.

Just got mine today, was my 3rd doff pack. Glad it hit, because I decided to only buy 3 of the doff packs. Trying to decide which toon to give it to. Has anyone tried this out with a Ferengi captain? Just curious to know if the commodity discount stacks with the built in Ferengi one. I imagine it doesnt, but its worth asking before I open it up.
