interesting, thats going to be 1 zipy sci ship. in case you check back in this thread,

1. were did the fleet assault cruiser go? its not in the tribble ship store any more. i hope your not changing that very interesting station setup it had.

2. is there any chance you could consider changing the fleet galaxy's stations and consoles? what is proposed is not useful at all, and inferior to the negvar which at least has 3 tactical consoles and a universal ensign. 4/3/3 console setup is needed, and at least the ensign station universal, it not both LT stations too.


the first thread linked in my sig goes over all concerns i have which whats proposed ship wise, and has feedback on each. please have a look at that!

Awesome, thanks Geko. It's nice to hear the Console issue is being fixed, and the turn rate buff is a nice surprise.

Have you considered, though, giving the Science vessel Retrofit the same Boff layout as the Fleet Science Vessel Retrofit? The LtC tac slot is something science vessels have needed for some time now, and it would be nice to have a less powerful (and free) ship that also has that slot in addition to the fleet version having it.

The FDSSV having the 5th science slot rather than the FLRSV-R does strike me as a bit odd. My point is that now that we have more ships, the layout makes a little less sense. Given what we know about the Intrepid and Nova classes from Star trek Voyager, the two ships should have their Boff and console layouts swapped: the SV-R should have Lt tac and eng, with the LtC, Cmdr and Ens slots being science since it's canonical role was straight up research vessel, and the LRSV-R should have the Ltc tac since the Intrepid has pretty good tactical systems (and being a long range vessel a Lt and Ens eng slot with the Cmdr and other LT slots being sci, would make sense, though that threatens to diminish the science aspects a bit).

That's neither here, nor there, though. It's a bit too late to change it, and at this stage, trying to do it would likely cause problems.

Quite probably because the "Science Vessel" is based on Tier 2 tech, and as you well know, all ships get reduced turn rates for each tier. Yet somehow, these new Science Vessels not only get to keep their original turn rate, but get it INCREASED as well.

I have a feeling that the Vesta will be the tactically minded science vessel, if and when it appears in game. There was quite the discussion about it on the Priority One podcast ep 86 supplemental with Al Rivera.

I am not sure I got this whole Fleet thing. I just looked at the Escorts and there is no Fleet version of either the MVAM, nor the Heavy Escort (and no the Armitage is NOT the Fleet version).

Will there be no Fleet version to those (and other) ships? That is not very motivating...

PS.: especially, if it is a C-Store ship!
GIVE US THE FLEET HEAVY ESCORT (without CARRIER)!

Why not? It's barely any larger than a Defiant class - the wiki actually suggests that some of the customisable set ups can make it smaller than an escort. I quote (from the wiki):

Any chance of fixing the KDF ones...

Its a chance to make both of the Heavy Battle Cruisers feel like a Heavy Battle Cruiser... It's nice that one of them was given that chance but the other one just feels like its a Starfleet Vessel with a Klingon Hull wrapped around the outside of it (negh'var).

Not to mention its a Tier 4 ship and then you have the vo'quv with only advantage is 2k more hull and is a Tier 5 starbase ship. Also why no gorn retrofits or fleet ships? One of major reasons no one uses them in STF DPS Races they just aren't adequate for what they can dish out in a small time window.
