Finally was able to enter a red alert through the queue. did not see a red alert pop up but i was not on that long.

It was a decent defence mission. 4 waves (of 2 groups each) then a final dreadnought wave.

we did the first 8 groups with some time to spare. we then almost destroyed the final wave but run out of time. probably needed another 30 seconds but im sure its doable in the time required.

we face the nausicaans and we got the updated ships so it was cool to fight garumbas and scourge ships.

Spent a couple hours doing these and the other new missions, Never saw the red alert button. Was it removed?

i must say it waS AGAINST klingons and it was very intense in a good way i actually felt like i was in a real star trek battle from ds9

The good, I really liked the AI and how it used powers and skills in a way not seen in pre season 6 material. This is the first mission I feel like they are trying to use those against the player first and foremost and not against something else that catches all the flack.
Very nice pacing and very active fight, I enjoyed that.

The bad, felt a bit DPS check'ish. If you had enough DPS it was kinda dull. Played it several times with escorts and tac cruisers predominantly and never felt worried that it wouldn't be finishable. Just what I felt playing as the other season 6 material felt as though it had a place for science and tanking cruisers, but this one just felt as though you should simply rock and lock escorts. Anyway if its gonna be dps focused might as well go teh whole Hog and give bonus rewards for clearing a wave before the next arrives?(you could be I didn't specifically check).

Anyway great fun in an cannon excelsior build.

I have noticed that next wave begins before you have defeated the last one. this makes it a little more action packed and hectic but im unsure if its working as intended as you literally get no chance to catch your breath.

i also faced some klingons and they were using bio neural warheads (ouch) but they were not exploding on the station. they just hovered next to the hull of the station. im not sure if they did any damage or not. i dont think they did but it was hard to tell.

What are the failure circumstances? We kept getting "they have a foothold in the starbase" around the 4th wave, yet the starbase was at full health, almost full shields, etc.

I'm able to run the Gorn Minefield fleet action with virtually no lag. Starbase 24, no problem.

But this fleet defense was nigh unplayable. Massive lag, and other people in my fleet had the same issue. It was pretty rough, frame rate dropped to practically nothing. It was still pretty fun, but I wasn't able to send repair teams to the starbase, nor was I able to tell if anyone else had. We won (I'm Captain 3 and the lowest rank person in my fleet), but it was hard to tell what I had actually done.

Worth saving though imminently enjoyable.

Also there was no red alert, I found out about it through a chat.
