I'm glad.
Now I don't feel as bad about the lack of a Romulan playable faction.

Still,I can't wait for the eventual adding of the Romulans, which are now (likely) a struggling galactic power trying to piece together the remains of a shattered empire. It makes the race that much more interesting.

Was it ever really a question of if it would happen? They would of been really stupid not to have the new movie factor into the history of STO.

I guess my problem is that uniforms and bridge design (which we have seen admittedly little of) is a very linear progression of TNG/DS9/VOY and that it's fundamentally ten years old and looking dated. I'd like to see a more bold jump into the future.

Nero is from this timeline, has no ridges... hence my question.

"Starfleet sends all available ships into the Romulan Star Empire to help with recovery efforts."

I didn't like that quote. What recovery efforts? Romulus and Remus are both completely destroyed. You're not going to find injured people or people in space suits among the Romulus & Remus flotsam being able to survive complete planetary destruction.

Or maybe Starfleet was helping to establish continuity of Romulan government, but even that seems unlikely.

The only people requiring aid are those who may have been in their starships near Romulus when Hobus Star went nova and tried to get away only to get caught in the destructive wake of the shockwave. Even that seems unlikely, as the shockwave can destroy entire planets forget vulnerable space ships.
