The Dacoit will open access to using Interceptors, which are the superior fighter pet in the game IMO. Not a top tier damage pet, but provides DPS, drains weapons/engines, and chroniton torps which lower speed/turnrate. On top of that they're the fastest pets in the game, which does wonders for getting your Kar'fi in position for things like Gravity Well.

The Frigates are the best DPS pet in the game, you simply can't ignore it being able to use Tricobalt HY2. Plus it drops Tricobalt mines into the mix...

As eradicator84 mentioned, get the Plasmatic Leech, it will stack drains along with the Interceptor... If you want to make the drain better, run with Polaron weapons as well.

All 3 of my KDF 50s fly a Kar'fi... its just too much fun

If you're running the frigates, I'd look into 1 or 2 purple hanger bay DOs for really fast respawn of these wonderful pets.

I've been testing 1 purple and 2 blue hanger bay DOs (15% + 12.5% +12.5% cooldown buff)
and respawn of fighters is almost instant and frigates end up being 10 seconds.

I'm still interested in some feedback on the new DOs...

Intercept Mode = Accuracy buff
Escort Mode = Damage buff
Recall Mode = Defense buff

Thanks for all the reply's! I got the kar'fi and the leech console last night and I'm probably going to do some respecing for this ship later. I may or may not get the interceptors thought they seem really nice. I'm currently running advanced slavers and soon to be advanced frigites.

I've been flying the Kar'fi for a while, and it is my favorite by far. The Commander Science gives you crowd control, and LtComm tactical slot gives you punch. And its just fun! It's more nimble than most of the other carries, and using cannons can boost your DPS if you're going in that direction.

I'm using the Frigate/Power Drain Pods in a Power-Drain specific build. Lots of polarons, Tychen Rifts, Plasmonic leech... very potent and lets a team take out tactical cubes with minimal losses. I'm not the one doing huge DPS, but I'm keeping the cubes from one-shotting our escorts!

the Kar'fi is a true carrier hon, that can turn and perform.

One word of warning however, she is a touch of a glass cannon, with all those tac slots and very limiting engineering slots, you have to get a little bit picky on some defensive skills for the tac and especially science to offset that.

but for the true carrier, the kar'fi is head and shoulders above the marauder.

Karfi is the best ship for tha kdf IMHO. But it isn't for an eng.

The maurauder is invincible. Put 3 shield consoles, honor guard shield and the rest omega.
Put all special consoles on it. Plasma leech and the 2 part omega allows you to go through shields like butter.
It is truly unique for an eng.
IMHO the marauder is a lot better than the bortas

I find the frigate dps significantly less effective than the blue tod'uj fighters.

Are you guys having success with them doing anything special with them command-wise?

hmm?

Nau, I use the advance power drain probes mostly hon, either in PVP support, or elite STF. In the STF I will break out the suicidal Skull's, but I do not use the advance tod'uj fighters.

After giving the Karfi a go over the weekend, I can say I definitely prefer it over the Bortasqu. More manoeuvrable, and can launch a frigate every 30 secs if you stagger it vs the bortasqu pet which is every 3-4 mins. Only give up one rear turret slot though, so is a good trade off.

The Karfi imo is a bit of a glass cannon. In my Marauder I can go many elite STFs (like each one 2-3 times) in a row and not die once, the Karfi though I seemed to die once or twice every 3 STFs. Might have to sacrifice one of the 4 special consoles I have slotted and replace it with an extra shield gen/emitter to help with survivability.

The frigates are good, survive for a long time which is nice vs fighters and do quite a bit of damage.


I don't think I prefer the Karfi over the Marauder though. The Marauder I can survive most things and still have 4 special consoles slotted for extra fun, whilst having a hanger to play with. The Karfi is too brittle for my liking.

Funny you mention the Orion Interceptors... I think they are great also, and are very good when mixed with the S'kul or Frigates. It must be how the mixed weapon energy types of mixing the pets assit over all damage.

I just started using a polaron weapon build and I am going to have to test drive it on a Kar'Fi.
