# 1 Type 6 hull
04-27-2012, 06:28 AM
I know its purely cosmetic, but appearance can go along way. Is there any way to give the MVAE a type 6 hull armor. It seems like every c-point ship except a few, like the MVAE, have type 6 hull armor. Is there a reason for this or did the devs not overlook it. I hate seeing how a low tier ship has that pure white armor and so does my sao paulo class does too. So why not the MVAE? Also why can't we mix and match parts. As soon as you move a part out it goes to type 1-4.

More type 6 hull textures would be nice.

I agree cosmetics go a long way. I think some lose sight that this is a game and we play games for enjoyment. Variety is nice too. Some times I like a ship that has a clean and professional Star Trek look and some times I like a grungy looking Borg ship.

Also, for me, what may be cosmetic for some is functional to me. My eye sight is not what it use to be, so a bright white ship is easy to keep my eye on. I always use the lightest color available so I can easily see the ship. And I just think they look good.

Not sure where this puts the Defiant, since it has a refit. But essentially the MVAE is too old for a Type 6 Hull.

Unless the Type 6 Hull as some special properties about I could see that. But as far as I can see its pretty much a paint job. I don't think age has anything to do with it. I can see it only being given to the refitted younger ship variants of older ships, and thus gaining the new plate type. But the Prometheus/MVAE were in experimental stages during voyager which would put it at a pretty young ship design.

For 2000 c-points it would be nice to at least get type-6 hull on that ship. It's the the most expensive tier base ship, and doesn't come with type 6.

You could easily change names from MVAE to Advanced Escort Refit. As it was refitted to once again have MVAM and new boff layout, and improved shields (advanced=4478, MVAE=4702)

I think the availability of material 6 is currently limited strictly by when the ship was placed in the C-store. Ships that were put in there a while ago like the tier 4 retrofits and the MVAM don't have it as an option, while the newer models (such as the lower tier refits) do.

Type 6 material on Bellerophon does cost 750 Zen although its not shown beside the "Type 6" label. Did not found any info about - was this everytime "like that" or is this new in Season 6?
