WOW, so the new EV suit is a CHARACTER unlock? Sorry, at 700 Zen PER toon, that's not really a bargain...

I mean, yeah: they look really cool, but in the end, they aren't that much better than the 10 or so EV suits that drop/are rewarded for FREE during the Tholian missions, and only marginally better than the "pre-owned" you can get via the D-store.

If you got the Orange Suit during the Dilithium Mining promo this spring, or you've picked up even a "low grade" suit at random to this point, save your Zen for something that benefits your entire account. Unless you're an OCD fashionista and/or you are rolling in the the dough, this ain't worth your real world cash investment!

Sorry, PW/Cryptic, this one is a bit much...

We're discussing this here if you want to give it a read:

I still wonder about the marketing logic behind this.

Thanks, Mike. Didn't see this one anywhere else and, as this is more a "C-store and Promotions" topic, I thought it appropriately located. Glad others are discussing it elsewhere, for all the good it will do us. At least we can "get the word out," eh?

You are right that "EVA" is unsearchable, too, so this is likely to pop up in a lot of places!

Cheers,

Mac

While I dislike the idea of buying that suit, I would buy a Life Support Belt.

Mar, your TAS obsession is showing again

Yeah, no $7 per character suits for me, either. Not across all of my alts. Too much money. Too bad. Those Klingon suits looked great.

a shame it doesn't come with the clear face plate and the option to have a borg arm floating off the leg. But even then, it's not worth the $7 for the whole account, so why they think it's alright to charge that much for a single character unlock is ridiculous. Especially when they've effectively flooded the market as it is with free suits that do the exact same thing. And yet they get mad when people accuse them of trying to take advantage of our love of trek......

i thought it was a "per item" unlock, not a per char unlock.

Exactly. For some reason, people keep saying "per character unlock", though.

I have no idea why.

yeah you buy the item the same way you buy a master key. It's not an unlock of any kind.

I still think it's too expensive to be worth it.
