the real reason they dnt let you is this........

if you could customize your suit you wouldnt have to buy several of them......

its another way for them to tug at your wallet......

Even if they wanted to, you'd have to figure out where to put in break points, as there are no natural ones (i.e. pants and shirts have natural break points at the waist, and cuffs.) And then, you have to make sure that those parts all work together. When we're trying to make something as iconic as the First Contact suit, having to modify it so that it's sleeves could be used on the old suit, means that if you just want the FC Suit, and put all those parts together, it won't look right.
With EV Suits & Armors I was more thinking in line of an appearance tab or WoWs transmogrification. You can only have one "whole" suit to show, but you can choose to have it look either like the crystal suit or the last known canon suit.

No, thats silly. Right now there is no reason for me to get it since it would rip the set bonus. Others might think the same. Also there are probabaly players with a purple EV suit with random stats that fits their playstyle better, so no reason for them too to get it (outside of collecting of course).

If you could use the visual on whatever EV suit you're wearing as soon as you buy it there are suddenly much more ppl which would have a reason to do so.

So its quite the opposite of what you're telling. Its another way for them to pat your back and say "Keep your money"

Or simply require people to use reasonable head restrictions if they opt for the transparent glass choice.
Either of those require programming time, which is precious and rare. Opaque EV suit likely did not. In addition, it's not just head size/shape. Andorians for example couldn't use it if things were restricted.

This makes no sense to me. How does limiting customization mean you buy more?

Ah, I see what you mean now. Like, buy the "Combat EV Suit" mechanic, and then apply whichever suit's visuals you want to use? One problem might be recognizability. Currently, if you see a First Contact suit, you know what it does. If you could swap it out, you wouldn't know at a glance whether someone had the extra bits or not. Dunno, just speculating. The concept sounds feasible.

Or the other way around, exactly!

Seriously, would you care so much (and have all the time the stats of each suit in your mind) what some dude (or dudette) wears to sacrifice such an awesome feature?

Chances are if you click at somebody on Nukara in an FC EV Suit that 50% of the time its name is either "Security Escort" or "Mirror Whatshisname"

I get that. It comes down to how much you plan to use them, how much you plan to make off of them, and when they'll be out.

I think the big thing that has me second guessing this is the 700 ZEN EV suit. When it was a freebie not even tied to a mission reward, I thought of it as a gimmick. With Nukara Prime, my expectations went up. Then I see a 700 ZEN per suit EV suit and my expectations went up more.

C'est la feature creep.

EV suits sit in the Armor slot, which can be turned off visually, and judging by the players I see running around ESD and SFA, most do. There are so few EV suits, and with the opaque glass face shield, it really does limit customization when using a EV suit, its just a bunch of clones running around

It would be nice if there were ways to customize the EV suit like we do our uniforms, even if more limited, like colors and badges.

Honestly, with the way we currently have options to turn off all the visuals on both ourselves and our ships, recognizability doesn't have the same weight in this game like it might in other MMO's. I would really like to see more of what we have with the STF ground sets unlocking tailor options for not only things like the EV suits, but also for the starship sets. It would be nice to use, say, the Reman shield effect while actually having the MACO shields equipped.

I play ground pvp and I would. It's a bad feature, don't be selfish, think to balance...
