When was the last time ANYTHING new came out that was customizable? I can't remember. NONE of the new ships are customizable, not even the Oddy (and don't get me started about the KDF ships), and of course none of the lockbox ships are customizable. Sure,we got the Faresians, but I imagine they are about as customizable as the Gorn (which isn't saying much). Customization seems to have been thrown away once PWE took over in place of viewing customers as resources to mine rather than customers.

The D'kora has several different materials (which change the engine colour and the side... bits... as well as the hull), and also quite a few decal patterns available under the advanced tab.
Or at least it does on the KDF side, don't have one on the Fed but I'd assume it's the same there.
Personally i'm a little sad that we can't use the MkXII stf costumes when using the EV suit. Why design them to look like EV suits but function as a costume separate from the armor if you can't use is as a costume when using the EV suit. Maco specifically looks better than the EV suits.
I play ground pvp and I would. It's a bad feature, don't be selfish, think to balance...
As another player noted:
You can disable suit visuals and all anyone will see is a grey EV suit.
You can also simply not activate the suit and it won't display as an EV suit at all. (Far as I know, activating it only protects against toxic environment insta-kills and lets you jump waypoints. So there's no reason to activate it in PvP anyway.)
R.I.P. Caspian Division.
An expensive lesson that one compromised account can undo the hours of work and hundreds of dollars spent in good faith by a fleet.

Really it isn't the same as changing the entire structure like you can with many of the non-Cstore, non-lockbox ships on the fed side (again, KDF is just SOL with that). I mean, you can add different shields and get different visuals too, that doen't mean the same as changing types of nacelles or saucer sections.
Honestly, I think the majority of the ship customization came from the old Starship Creator game anyway so the art department didn't really have to do much.

Not sure if serious...

I remember I was able to choose between several customization options with my KDF gorn boff and even if I don't have it I was under the impression that there where customization options with this new light escort-carrier.
I do not think cryptic has given up on customization, otherwise I would not have bothered to bring up that topic.
it's the concept. EV Suits are singular, self contained units, that fit over whatever the person is wearing. There are no breaks in the suit, and thus, why would you artificially divide the suit up?
