Do you know why a Battleship is not intended to be a Cruiser in the STO sense?

Well, according to you a "battleship" is a half-baked Bortasqu' with a horrendously squishy BOff layout?

I do agree the proposed lay out isn't ideal.

This gives you the added offensive abilitys you seek but retains the survivability you need.
I do still maintain however that untill there are better weapons oftions there really isn't much point in calling this a battleship.

As I have stated before in order for there to be a rue battleship there needs to be a useable big gun for somthing this slow. Like some kind of heavy beam array or single heavy cannons.
Actualy reading things pefore posting will make you look smarter than yelling loudly. Reading comprehension is aparently a lost art.

LOL, what kind of battleship is that ? Where are the hull heals ? You eat VM and what ? You die to bleed through before you cycle your precious APO and BO. Useless ship.

No, that would be according to you and the "big ships must be healers" crowd.

But so many people try to make, what some PvPers call "cruisers that try to be escorts". And they want to do that because a battleship is a fascinating notion to many: Big fat ship with big fat guns. Unfortunately, as of now, the game does not give them that.

The Battleship would change that - so we now would only see those people take cruisers who actually want to be healertanks.

Too tanky, too little offensive power. no, It really needs a complete tactical Boff layout like the other tactical ships in the game.

"Beam Rapid Fire" would be a good addition to the game, sure, but it would work with the current abilities, too.

No I'm saying that a ship that cannot defend itself or it is a threat to enemy is useless. You took an escort build and put it on a imaginary slow big ship and hope it will work...well it won't. You can test it yourself (at least the tanking part) on current cruisers and see how long you will live.

Your problem is, that you constantly try to bend the system to your needs instead adapting to the system. With this attitude, you will never be happy.

Which she did straight out of cloak. Its called an alpha. In STO terms it gets nerfed down of course, but abilities like Omega are alpha abilities. The theory is you weaken the enemy sufficiently on your alpha strike that you don't need as many defensive options.
