Personally, out of all the complex systems and calculations answers timers, etc... this idea is probably the best I have seen.

125 weapon energy means one of three things

1 your ship is speced to the max and you are a LONG TIME VA

2 you are flying a glass hammer escort

3 you turned off your engines


either way you are LESS use than a balanced mix of ships

5 escorts is a failure in most missions

1. fail

2. fail carrier who can tank anythink

3. how you can turn your engine off lol

You go for 125 weapon power on a CARRIER??

100 is more than enough
put spare power into ENGINES
or AUX

you are a Heavy ship
not a battle ship

so i decide to tell you the sto secrets coz you new in this game.


1. all mission dmg based in this game, that says you have to deal max dmg to help the team to finish fast the mission or simply finish it.

low dmg result is optinals fail or main objektives, the players die alort of times the missuons extend into insane runtimes...... all a big drama.


now let me think how a player can deal dmg hmmmmmmm........

ohhh i know it the dmg/dps calculation in this game is quite easy.

weapon energy+weapontype/amount of weapons.

or easyer for you you+4 of you go in with 100 weapon energy or lower you think 100 is to much into for example a infected space the result is you do the mission with luck in ~30 min.

i go in with max dps +4 others with 125 we do the same mission in ~7 min!

and sorry but i never decide that in sto the dps is all what counts i dont create the game.

and that is one of the reasons for players to go afk in a mission, i must also decide if i go with you in a mission if i really will waste 30 min or 1 hour in a 7 min mission or simply go eat breakfast and dont waste my time for a failrun mission...

A carriers damage is done by its fighters
you are a big slow ship

Speed is more valuable than weapons power

as to optionals and timers
A balanced team will win 75% of the time (optional included)

i have a raw dps of 5400 my pets do "example advanced slavers" 1200 raw dps if you not understand a simply logik.

speed is more importend for a carrier for what 50 energy i am slow o 100 i am still same slow+ dont deal dmg.

Agreed. My voquv is pretty much indestructable with the layout I use, and my slaver squuadrons can do a hell of a lot of damage whilst making me rich

I have an idea: Don't pug. Join a fleet that actually is active with lots of people that can play the game.
