So I know if you have a c-store version of a ship, it costs only 1 Fleet Ship module instead of 4. That said, I heard that it only counts if the C-Store variant you have is tier 5. That doesn't make sense to me.

I have wanted a tier 5 version of the tier 2 escort pretty much since I started playing. If I buy the Gladius, will a Fleet Escort Retrofit then only cost 1 module?

Thanks for any replies.

As far as I know, no. The Gladius is a Refit ship not a Retrofit therefore it doesn't count towards a discount. The Fleet ships that are discounted are those which you can already purchase from the Z-Store. For example, the Heavy Escort Carrier can be purchased from the Z-Store so if you buy it then the Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier will be cheaper.

If true, this is an incredible ripoff.

Unfortunately, it is true. Even then, this only applies to a few different ships on the Fed side, not KDF.

Only ships that you have previously purchased with Zen are eligible for the FSM. This way, you are not getting double dipped for Zen if you want a fleet upgrade of the LRSV-R.

However, you do not get a discount for a fleet upgrade of a free ship. This is because you have not payed any zen for this yet. Therefore, you have to pay the 2000 zen for the upgrade.

Either way, Cryptic gets $20 and you get a new ship. I think that is fair.
