Anymore it's almost 100% if there is one single sub-va in any fleet event, we loose. I just played a game with 3 sub-50's. Couldn't even kill the 3rd wave in Fleet Alert. Only myself and the other VA were even killing anything. They other 3 were just getting blown up. Please for the love of god get them out of our events! Separate it like you do the Mirror event... 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50. That way people can all play on their own level. What you've got now isn't working. These low levels don't have the survivability, crowd control ability, or damage to keep up.

I LIKE working with lowbies in Fleet alert and blockade

Actually my favorite team mate (we run together about twice a week on alerts) flys a rainbow warrior (Three different coloured cannons/turrets)
it really ANNOYS VA's when he turns up

And I played one this morning with a full VA team that couldn't kill the siege group in the given time.

I played one last week with a couple of "lowbies" that was completely successful.

Oooh! Oooh! I wanna volunteer! My Fed Science toon just got promoted to LT Cmdr. Completely by accident, I assure you. If I go buy an Escort, will you help me pick out the right weapons so I get that "for real" Failboat effect? Just whistle and I promise I'll come runnin'! I also promise to excel at mediocrity for ya! Nobody is better at being just below average than I am. Nobody. USS Torp Magnet NCC-9101101101, reporting for duty, Sir! Giving FanBoys apoplexy is something I wanna devote the rest of my life too. Can I help? Puh-Leeese? Don't make me set my phasers on 'Bambi Eyes'! You know I'll do it if I have too. roflmao!

and once again, something I said in haste and frustration comes back to bite me in the ass, proving that no matter how much cultural detergent I use, I will always be a redneck.

Seriously, now, doing that is called "Griefing" and it's every bit as rude and douchey as being a whiny elitist snob throwing tantrums.

But...

The core point still stands- The "Fleet Triple" of Starbase Incursion, Fleet Alert, and Starbase Defense were obviously and visibly structured intentionally to cause mixing between new players, returning players, old hands, and high end players. If you play out Incursion enough (either Klingon, or Feddie) you already KNOW where the Sabos are going to spawn (within a few meters), about when, etc. based on which race they are. Likewise, enough goes at the two space events, and you'll have a fair idea of the "Tactics" (and I use that word loosely) of the AI-driven opposition, their capabilities, and about where the boss is going to spawn from.

The only REAL variable, is what your team is going to do-and that's the variable that takes it from being a low-buck, low-effort one-shot module into something challenging.

Which it is SUPPOSED to be-not just a predictable grind like Nukara's outdoors portion or the initial levels of the city on Defera, but a challenge. (note that the Defera missions payout is pretty low folks. Hours of work for about six FM if you're soloing. That's on account of it being predictable if it's not your very first go down there.)

15+ FM for fifteen minutes of time? not bad, compared to the endless grind of the two VA ONLY sites where you don't have to PUG because you can solo it through all the Green, most of the Purples, and some of the Yellows (admittedly for less).

There is NO reasonable expectation of maximum payout, but most of the failures I've seen come from people expecting to have it all their own way, all the time, and who tantrum when they don't get it.

My friend and I play this mission a lot. Me in my Atrox and him in his lvl 30 escort. He is a level 35 and he knows how to play the mission. I have found many, many VA who have no idea how to do it and then blame my friend. My friend and I alpha strike one of the groups and take it out before the other 3 usually blow up the other group.

On a different note. If you are looking for another LTC rainbow boat then count me in! That would be so fun to do that!

@patrickngo: I wasn't mocking you. I agree wholeheartedly with that post of yours I quoted. Who says being a Redneck is bad? Not me! No, sir! If you ever do need a pilot and his Failboat to die gloriously while failing epically in the cause of ticking off every FanBoy in range, I'll be your huckleberry. Been giving some thought to this. All Mk I or Mk II and everything white in quality seems a good start. Far too many people around these forums take this here com-pyu-ter game waay too seriously. I do not believe it is possible to grief a FanBoy enough. Most of 'em can't hear us anyways. Because of how awesome they assume they are.

Your second post has high merit as well. Well reasoned, Sir. Well reasoned, indeed. I hadn't thought about this from the viewpoint you presented. However, since you pointed it out, it is now obvious. I guess since I do not get all tied up in how much loot I garner, I am missing out on something only the "Real STO Players" truly understand.
