Its frustrating but its not complete BS. Consider if they did give the 3 Fleet Module discount on your 1000-zen Korotinga, then you would be getting a full account unlock ship, the console, the skin, and a 1-character fleet version, for 1500-zen, less than the cost of fleet ship alone originally, costing Cryptic 500-zen / $5 and the option of selling you all the extras. When they do it on an Admiral ship like lets say the Defiant-R, they sell both the 2000-zen ship and still a 500-zen Fleet Module, then you get all the bonuses and they make $5 over the cost of just a fleet ship. To be fairer perhaps, use a sliding scale on premium ships, so 3 modules off at Admiral level, 2 modules at Captain, 1 at Commander, so they still make their net $5 profit on fleet ship + bonuses, but they chose to do it this way instead. *shrugs* But they're a business and thats how its goes I guess, and isn't much that can be done at this point anyways.

These are NOT z-store ships. They are fleet ships. The fact they require "modules" at all is the epitome of greed. They're not LOSING any money. It's all pure profit. They could charge 1 zen and still make a profit. There's no way I'm spending 2000zen (or more) for a ship barely better than the free ships available. It literally has an extra console over the Vor'Cha retrofit. It cost them NOTHING to develop, because it's an existing ship with 1 extra console spot, and the graphics of a DIFFERENT ship.

That is why it is utter BS.

I'm sure as hell not going to buy any fleet modules in c-store. atlest not with those prices.

other games offer a full expansion for that kind of money...

i'm not gonna spend money to buy a ship i already own, just so i can get a 10% better variant.

i was subscribed for a year...i think i earned to pay only 500 (still redicilous, but profit needs to be made) for this improved ships.

Before the dilithium currency conversion, I bought my Multi Vector Advanced Escort and Advanced Research Science Vessel Retrofit for 500 emblems each, and now I still have to pay 4 Fleet Ship Modules in order to get Fleet versions of my ships. I still call dat a ripoff.

lets look at the numbers.

Player A wants to buy a tier 5 c-store ship. which costs 2500 zen. he then upgrades to a fleet ship and pays 500 zen and some fleet credits. he now has one of the best ships in the game for 3000 zen.

Player B buys a tier 3 ship for 1000 zen to use at tier 3 and then buys 4 fleet modules for tier 5. he pays 2000 zen again and now has one of the best ships in the game plus he used the tier 3 ship for a total of 3000 zen like player A.

Lets call the OP player C. He wants to buy a tier 3 c-store ships for 1000 to use at tier 3, and then only buy 1 fleet model. that comes to 1500 zen. that does not seem to very fair to player A or B. he wants the best ship in the game, its alternate skin and the use of a tier 3 for half of what the others paid.

now are the ships and modules priced too highly? most people would probably say yes, but thats the going rate and its what people are buying them at.

the prices may be expensive but if people are willing to buy them then it has to cost everyone roughly the same. i could see an argument for tier 4 ships only requiring 3 modules as they currently cost 1500+2000 to make 3500, but i dont think the OP should have to pay less than someone who has paid the going rate already.

if the OP wants he can buy the fleet modules on the exchange and pay nothing, buy them with the dilithium conversion while the market is very favourable or he can have the fleet version that costs 200'000 fleet credits and also pay nothing. he only losses a small percentage bonus for the cost of the tier 3 ship he already has.

Eh? my nebula retrofit costs only 1 module to upgrade to the fleet version.

If you own the tier 3 nebula it doesn't count towards the discount. If you own the Tier 5 nebula then the fleet should cost only 1 module.

If you own the T5 and not getting the discount check the cstore item and see if you can claim the nebula tier 5 (should read 'available' rather than a zen store price). If it doesn't show as if you purchased it (due to emblem purchase) then submit a ticket.

Chances are they'll just tell you that since you did not pay money you do not deserve the discount. If they even answer you at all.

I do agree there should be some discount considered for people upgrading to a fleet version of a Tier 2-4 ship, even if it's just one fleet module less.

Emblem ships don't count for the discount. It has to be a ship you actually purchased from the C-Store. The same issue goes for all the people who used a VA Token to get a Galaxy, Intrepid, or Defiant R - they also don't qualify for a Module discount.

I agree. Any ship you spent money for, regardless of Tier, should give you some type of discount on Modules.

The ONLY reason I would buy a Fleet Module would be to sell it on the exchange.
